5 грудня 2024 року у народному музеї історії ПДМУ відбулася урочиста церемонія нагородження волонтерів Університету, присвячена Міжнародному дню волонтера.
«Сьогодні кожен українець — волонтер, а ПДМУ є не лише лідером медичної освіти Полтавського регіону, України та Європи, але й флагманом волонтерської роботи», — такими словами відкрила захід модераторка події, директорка музею історії Університету Таміла Дашевська. Вона також нагадала, що волонтерство як феномен має свою давню історію, яка сягає середини ХІХ століття, а першими волонтерами були самаритяни.
Серед почесних гостей заходу був Голова Консультативної ради у справах ветеранів війни, сімей загиблих (померлих) захисників України при Полтавській ОВА, учасник бойових дій, підполковник Іван Петренко. У своєму виступі він відзначив важливість волонтерства у підтримці армії:
«Що головне в армії? Озброєння, одяг, харчі, медикаменти? Усе головне — на полі бою немає другорядного. Держава — це ми, ЗСУ — це ми. Наші воїни захищають нас, жертвуючи найдорожчим — життям. Тому ця думка має мотивувати нас щодня. Треба підтримувати ЗСУ наскільки це можливо кожному».
Щирі слова вдячності колегам-волонтерам пролунали від лікаря-стоматолога, волонтерки та засновниці БО «Благодійний фонд Ірини Каптур» Ірини Каптур. Вона наголосила на значенні внеску кожного, хто долучається до спільної справи.
Проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи ПДМУ, професор Валерій Похилько привітав всіх колег і студентів-волонтерів зі святом і розповів принагідно про внесок ПДМУ у волонтерський рух: «Війна нагадала нам, що є цінності, важливіші навіть за життя. Ми не зволікали й почали допомагати з перших днів війни, працюючи у різних напрямках: підтримка ЗСУ, допомога ВПО, пораненим, дітям. Ми збираємо кошти на дрони, засоби РЕБ, ліки, аптечки, маскувальні сітки та інші необхідні речі. Особлива подяка трьом волонтерським загонам Університету та всім викладачам, які невтомно працюють на волонтерському фронті!»
Нагородження відбулося за сприяння Голови Громадської спілки Всеукраїнської Асоціації Захисників України (ветеранів війни) Сергія Куніцина.
За високе почуття патріотизму, просвітницьку діяльність, медичну та фінансову підтримку, вагомий внесок у справу перемоги України у наданні благодійної допомоги та з нагоди Міжнародного дня волонтера медалями «За гідність та патріотизм» були відзначені:
- кафедра онкології та радіології з радіаційною медициною ПДМУ;
- кафедра мікробіології, вірусології та імунології ПДМУ;
- кафедра ортопедичної стоматології з імплантологією ПДМУ;
- волонтерські загони ПДМУ «Єдність» і «Almino».
Ця подія стала яскравим прикладом єдності та самовідданості у боротьбі за майбутнє України. Адже волонтерство — це складова нашої спільної Перемоги, і сьогодні ми дякуємо кожному, хто допомагає її наближати.
PSMU Representatives Honored with "For Dignity and Patriotism" Medals on International Volunteer Day
On December 5, 2024, the National Museum of the History of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) hosted a ceremonial event to honor the university’s volunteers in recognition of International Volunteer Day.
"Today, every Ukrainian is a volunteer, and PSMU is not only a leader in medical education in the Poltava region, Ukraine, and Europe but also a flagship in volunteer efforts," remarked Tamila Dashevska, the event's moderator and Director of the Museum of University History. She noted the deep-rooted history of volunteering, dating back to the mid-19th century when the first volunteers were Samaritan helpers.
Among the esteemed guests was Ivan Petrenko, Head of the Advisory Council on War Veterans and Families of Fallen (Deceased) Defenders of Ukraine under the Poltava Region Military Administration, a combat veteran, and a Lieutenant Colonel. In his address, he emphasized the critical role of volunteering in supporting the army:
"What is most important in the army? Weapons, clothing, food, medicine? Everything is important—on the battlefield, nothing is secondary. The state is us; the Armed Forces are us. Our soldiers protect us, sacrificing their most precious possession—life. This should motivate us daily to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the best of our ability."
Sincere words of gratitude to fellow volunteers were expressed by Iryna Kaptur, a dentist, volunteer, and founder of the Charitable Foundation "Iryna Kaptur." She highlighted the significance of every individual contribution to the collective effort.
Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities at PSMU, congratulated colleagues and student volunteers on the occasion. He also outlined PSMU's contributions to the volunteer movement:
"The war reminded us of values more important than life itself. From the first days of the war, we have been actively helping in various directions: supporting the Armed Forces, aiding internally displaced persons, assisting the wounded, and supporting children. We have raised funds for drones, electronic warfare equipment, medicines, first aid kits, camouflage nets, and other necessary supplies. Special thanks go to the university's three volunteer teams and the faculty who tirelessly contribute to this volunteer front!"
The awards ceremony was supported by Serhii Kunitsyn, Head of the National Association of Ukrainian Defenders (War Veterans).
For their patriotism, educational activities, medical and financial support, and significant contributions to Ukraine’s victory through charitable assistance, the following were awarded the "For Dignity and Patriotism" medals:
Department of Oncology and Radiology with Radiation Medicine
Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology
Department of Prosthetic Dentistry with Implantology
Volunteer groups "Yednist" and "Almino" of PSMU
This event served as a vivid example of unity and dedication in the fight for Ukraine's future. Volunteering is an essential component of our shared victory, and today we thank everyone contributing to bringing it closer.
