28 березня 2024 року доцентка кафедри іноземних мов з латинською мовою та медичною термінологією Юлія Лисанець прочитала онлайн лекцію на тему “Skills and Strategies for Effective Academic Writing" для студентів Університету Шрі-Джаяварденепура (Шрі-Ланка).
Лекцію було проведено на запрошення адміністрації факультету прикладних наук Університету Шрі-Джаяварденепура на основі співпраці, встановленої завідувачкою кафедри іноземних мов з латинською мовою та медичною термінологією Оленою Бєляєвою з ланкійськими науковцями під час проведення ІІ Міжнародної науково-практичної конференції “Сучасні тенденції вивчення та навчання іноземних мов” на базі ПДМУ в 2023 році.
У ході лекції було обговорено найважливіші лексико-граматичні особливості наукового стилю англійської мови, лінгвістичні засоби реалізації стратегії персуазивності в писемному мовленні, а також методи усунення та попередження потенційних помилок у англомовному академічному дискурсі.
Лекція проводилася з використанням інтерактивної платформи “Slido”, що сприяло залученню студентів до обговорення, забезпечило динамічний обмін думками й миттєвий зворотній зв'язок з аудиторією.
Guest lecture by PSMU scholar at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura (Sri Lanka)
On March 28, 2024, Associate Professor Yuliia Lysanets, the Department of Foreign Languages with Latin and Medical Terminology gave an online lecture on "Skills and Strategies for Effective Academic Writing" for students of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura (Sri Lanka).
The lecture was held at the invitation of the administration of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura on the basis of cooperation established by Olena Belyaeva, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages with Latin and Medical Terminology, with Lankan scientists during the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Trends in Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages" at PSMU in 2023.
During the lecture, the most important lexical and grammatical features of the scientific style of English, linguistic means of implementing the strategy of persuasiveness in written speech, as well as methods of eliminating and preventing potential errors in English-language academic discourse were discussed.
The lecture was conducted using the interactive platform Slido, which facilitated student engagement in the discussion, provided a dynamic exchange of views and instant feedback from the audience.
