23-25 жовтня 2023 року на базі Університету м. Лодзь (Польща) відбулася конференція, присвячена Річниці першого підписання Великої Хартії Університетів. Вперше вона була підписана 388 ректорами в 1988 році. Полтавський державний медичний університет долучився до цього об’єднання у 2018 році в м. Саламанка (Іспанія).
Тема цьогорічного зібрання – «Університети та Реконструкція міст: Роль досліджень та освіти», – була розкрита в чисельних доповідях щодо регіональних перспектив університетів, в тому числі в Польщі та Україні, обговорені реальні приклади внесків університетів у реконструкцію і відновлення в різних ситуаціях – природні катастрофи, пандемії у різних частинах світу – Європа, Азія, США. З онлайн доповіддю щодо сучасних викликів в освіті й науці виступив заступник Міністра освіти і науки України Михайло Вінницький.
Велика увага надається співробітництву зі студентськими організаціями. Було підписано «меморандум розуміння» із Глобальним Студентським Форумом. Серед розглянутих тем – університет та реалізація соціальних функцій, роль цифровізації освіти в розвитку університетів та їх спільнот, суттєве посилення цілей університетів, спрямованих на дослідження та навчання в умовах відновлення тощо.
Наприкінці конференції відбулася яскрава процедура підписання Великої Хартії новими університетами, які долучаються до цієї ініціативи.
Magna Charta Universitatum Anniversary: “Universities and Re-Construction of Cities: the Role of Research and Education”
From October 23 to 25, 2023, the conference dedicated to the Anniversary of the Magna Charta Universitatum took place at the University of Lodz (Poland). It was first signed by 388 rectors in 1988. Poltava State Medical University joined this association in 2018 in Salamanca, Spain.
The theme of the 2023 MCO conference was “Universities and Re-Construction of Cities: the Role of Research and Education”. It was addressed in numerous presentations regarding the regional perspectives of universities, including in Poland and Ukraine. Real-life examples of contributions by universities to reconstruction and recovery in various situations, such as natural disasters and pandemics in different parts of the world: Europe, Asia, USA, were discussed. Mykhailo Vinnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, made the online presentation on current challenges in education and science.
Considerable attention was given to cooperation with student organizations. A "memorandum of understanding" was signed with the Global Student Forum. Topics discussed included the role of the university in implementing social functions, the role of digitalization in education for the development of universities and their communities, significant strengthening of the goals of universities focused on research and education in conditions of recovery, and more.
At the end of the conference, a vibrant Ceremony for the Signing of the Magna Charta by new universities committed to the principles of the Universitatum was held.
