9 січня у Полтавському державному медичному університеті відбувся круглий стіл за участю географа і краєзнавця Леоніда Булави.
Темою зібрання стало обговорення реальних фактів із життя відомого хірурга зі світовим ім’ям - Миколи Скліфосовського та про те, як історія сім’ї була змінена під дією різних історичних факторів.
Учасники круглого столу активно долучалися до обговорення та дізналися чимало нового, про що раніше не говорилося. Краєзнавець розповів про те, як насправді жив науковець, де похований та що сталося з його могилою. А також про складнощі, які виникли у роботі під час спроби перейменування вулиці на честь великого вченого та медика.
Крім того, на зустрічі було розглянуто подальші плани, які б допомогли університетській спільноті ПДМУ ознайомитися з правдивими фактами про Миколу Скліфосовського. Проректор закладу вищої освіти з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи, професор Валерій Похилько запросив Леоніда Булаву розповісти про свої унікальні дослідження здобувачам вищої освіти ПДМУ під час проведення традиційної науково-практичної конференції лікарів Полтавської області «Скліфосовські читання».
Директорка народного музею історії університету Таміла Дашевська продемонструвала експозиції, які пов’язані зі славетним хірургом, а присутні змогли почути цікаві факти від краєзнавця.

Poltava local historian participated in the round table discussion at PSMU
On January 9th, a round table discussion involving geographer and local historian Leonid Bulava was held at Poltava State Medical University. The theme of the gathering focused on the discussion of real-life facts about the renowned surgeon with a global reputation, Mykola Sklifosovsky, and how the history of his family was altered under the influence of various historical factors.
Participants of the round table actively engaged in the discussion and learned a lot of new information that had not been previously discussed. The local historian shared insights into the real life of the scientist, including details about his burial place and what happened to his grave. He also discussed the challenges that arose during attempts to rename a street in honor of the great scientist and physician.
Additionally, during the meeting, future plans were considered to help the PSMU academic community become acquainted with the true facts about Mykola Sklifosovsky. Professor Valeriy Pokhylko, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affaits and Extracurricular Affairs, invited Leonid Bulava to share his unique research with PSMU students during the traditional scientific-practical conference for physicians of the Poltava region, known as the "Sklifosovsky Readings."
The Director of the University's History Museum, Tamila Dashevska, showcased exhibits related to the renowned surgeon and attendees had the opportunity to hear interesting facts from the local historian.
