30 березня 2024 року на День відкритих дверей в Університет із різних регіонів України завітали гості – майбутні випускники середніх загальноосвітніх закладів у 2024 році, і не тільки вони. Історією провідного вищого медичного навчального закладу України з більш вже ніж столітньою датою від дня створення – Полтавського державного медичного університету – цікавилися молоді люди, які вирішили присвятити себе професії медика.
Почали відвідини з екскурсії до народного музею історії ПДМУ. Цікаві експозиції, які там представлені, перенесли їх не тільки у славне минуле закладу, але й збагатили уяву про можливості медицини і перспективи сучасної професії медичного працівника. Музей анатомії розширив уявлення про особливості людського організму і патологічні процеси, що можливі у ньому. Спілкування з ровесниками, студентами університету, познайомило зі студентським життям, особливостями навчального процесу та культурно-масовим дозвіллям у стінах університету.
Це щодо того, що, як відомо, краще раз побачити, ніж сто разів почути. Побачили все на власні очі, склали власне враження від відвіданого. Але, без сумніву, родзинкою традиційного Дня відкритих дверей, була зустріч з ректором ПДМУ, доктором медичних наук, професором, заслуженим лікарем України, Лауреатом Державної премії України у галузі науки і техніки Вячеславом Жданом. Він не тільки з неабиякою любов`ю до медичної справи і університету та студентської спільноти розповідав зацікавленим слухачам про навчання і студентське життя у стінах навчального закладу, а й щедро ділився думками і власним досвідом з приводу важливого у житті кожного вибору професії та відповідальності за таке рішення. На завершення відповів на запитання та висловив надію побачити своїх співрозмовників у лавах студентів у вересні 2024 року.

The University has once again hospitably opened its doors to potential entrants: the report on what they saw, what impressed them and the prospects of entering PSMU
On March 30, 2024, the Open Day was attended by guests from different regions of Ukraine - future graduates of secondary schools in 2024, and not only them. The young people who decided to dedicate themselves to the medical profession were interested in the history of Poltava State Medical University, the leading higher medical education institution of Ukraine with more than a hundred years of history.
They started their visit with an excursion to the PSMU History National Museum. The interesting expositions presented there took them not only to the glorious past of the university, but also enriched their understanding of the possibilities of medicine and the prospects of the modern medical profession. The Museum of Anatomy has expanded the understanding of the peculiarities of the human body and the pathological processes that are possible in it. Communication with peers, university students, introduced them to student life, the peculiarities of the educational process and cultural and mass leisure activities at the university.
This is about the fact that, as you know, it is better to see once than to hear a hundred times. We saw everything with our own eyes and made our own impression of what we visited. But, undoubtedly, the highlight of the traditional Open Day was the meeting with Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, PSMU Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology. Not only did he tell the interested students about his studies and student life at the university with great love for medicine, the university and the student community, but he also generously shared his thoughts and personal experience about the importance of choosing a profession and the responsibility for such a decision. In conclusion, he answered questions and expressed hope to see his interlocutors in the ranks of students in September 2024.
Dr. Gennadii Balia, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Board, introduced the audience to the rules of admission to the University in 2024.
