Вишиванка — один з найупізнаваніших візуальних кодів в Україні, культурне значення якого щороку міцнішає. Вона є символом нашої національної гордості, сили і єдності, оберегом нашої стійкості та відновлення.
А ще це оберіг, броня, яку створює українська жінка, щоб захистити найдорожче у своєму житті – дітей, коханих, близьких людей. Це символ нашої незламності та стійкості в боротьбі за збереження національної ідентичності в найважчі часи війни за свою свободу.
Свято вишиванки не є державним, воно не має стосунку до релігії. Започаткували його студенти Чернівецького національного університету в 2006 році. Якщо в 2007 році декілька десятків студентів вдягли вишиванки, наступного року їх підтримали містяни, то 2010 року свято поширилось на інші міста України. Сьогодні понад 100 країн світу майорять українськими вишиванками у третій четвер травня.
Кожен регіон має свої улюблені візерунки та традиції вишивання, які передаються від покоління до покоління. І всі вони не випадкові, всі мають глибоке значення і дарують силу, бо створюючи орнаменти для одягу дитини чи чоловіка, на будні чи свята, для того чи іншого обряду, жінка вкладає у свою роботу любов, бажання, спрагу та надію. І тим самим створює духовну броню нашого народу.

It is also a talisman, an armor that Ukrainian women create to protect the most precious things in their lives - children, loved ones, and close people. It is a symbol of our indestructibility and resilience in the struggle to preserve our national identity in the most difficult times of the war for our freedom.
The Vyshyvanka holiday is not a public holiday, it has nothing to do with religion. It was started by students of Chernivtsi National University in 2006. In 2007, a few dozen students wore embroidered shirts, and the following year they were supported by the townspeople, and in 2010 the holiday spread to other cities of Ukraine. Today, more than 100 countries around the world fly Ukrainian vyshyvankas on the third Thursday of May.
Each region has its own favorite embroidery patterns and traditions that are passed down from generation to generation. And all of them are not accidental, all of them have a deep meaning and give strength, because when a woman creates ornaments for her child's or husband's clothes, for weekdays or holidays, for a particular rite, she puts love, desire, thirst, and hope into her work. And thus creates the spiritual armor of our nation.
