30 листопада у стінах Полтавського державного медичного університету відбулася лекція з презентацією документальної експозиції «УКРАЇНА 1932-1933. ГЕНОЦИД ГОЛОДОМ». Виставку підготували працівники Українського інституту національної пам’яті, національного музею «Меморіал жертв Голодомору».
Саме цим трагічним подіям була присвячена лекція, яку прочитала старший науковий співробітник, завідувачка науково-дослідного експозиційного відділу новітньої історії Полтавського краєзнавчого музею імені Василя Кричевського, науковиця – Наталія Кузьменко.
На лекцію, завітали здобувачі освіти першого курсу та викладачі кафедри українознавства та гуманітарної підготовки.
Із вступним словом до присутніх звернувся проректор закладу вищої освіти з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи ПДМУ професор Валерій Похилько. Він зазначив, що «тема лекції актуальна в сучасних реаліях і ми повинні знати й пам’ятати трагічні сторінки нашої історії та зрозуміти всі масштаби трагедії українського народу».
Присутні не тільки уважно слухали лекторку, а й самі поділилися болісними спогадами про власні сімейні трагедії. Кожна українська родина, на жаль, має свою історію Голодомору. Під час лекції погодилися, що розповідати про Голодомор як національну катастрофу важливо, адже навіть зараз не можемо тішити себе надією, що новітній Голодомор не може повторитися. Навпаки, ознаки геноцидів бачимо дедалі частіше у сучасному світі.
Саме тому ці злочини залишають глибокі ментальні й фізичні рани на тілі нації, українського народу, який це пережив, а й усього людства. Загоїти їх – означає називати речі своїми іменами, говорити про них на повний голос та протистояти.
Students of Poltava State Medical University attended a lecture on the tragic pages of Ukraine's history - the Holodomor of 1932-1933
On November 30th, within the walls of Poltava State Medical University, a lecture with a presentation of the documentary exhibition "UKRAINE 1932-1933. GENOCIDE BY FAMINE" took place. The exhibition was prepared by the staff of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory and the National Museum "Memorial of the Holodomor Victims."
The lecture, dedicated to these tragic events, was delivered by the researcher Nataliia Kuzmenko, Senior Researcher, Head of the Research Exhibition Department of Modern History at Vasyl Krychevskyi Poltava Local History Museum.
The first-year students and the faculty staff of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities attended the lecture. The introductory speech was made by Professor Valerii Pokhylko, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities at PSMU. He noted that "the topic of the lecture is relevant in today's realities, and we must know and remember the tragic pages of our history and understand the full scale of the tragedy of the Ukrainian people."
The attendees were tuned in to the lecture and shared painful memories of their own family tragedies. Unfortunately, every Ukrainian family has its own Holodomor history. During the lecture, it was agreed that talking about the Holodomor as a national catastrophe is important, as even now we cannot console ourselves with the hope that a modern-day Holodomor cannot happen again. On the contrary, signs of genocides are increasingly visible in the modern world.
This is why these crimes leave deep mental and physical wounds on the body of the nation, the Ukrainian people who experienced it, and all of humanity. Healing them means calling things by their names, speaking about them loudly, and resisting them.
