2 квітня 2024 року науково-педагогічні працівниці кафедри українознавства та гуманітарної підготовки - завідувачка кафедри Тетяна Лещенко і старша викладачка Вікторія Юфименко відвідали актуальну онлайн-лекцію «Мовна ідентичність у вимірах історичної пам’яті українців». Лекторка: Лідія Гнатюк — докторка філологічних наук, професорка кафедри української мови та прикладної лінгвістики Навчально-наукового інституту філології Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка.Обговорили важливі питання, які стосуються мови:
- Чому мовний складник історичної пам’яті важливий для усвідомлення українцями власної національної ідентичності й самобутності?
- Чому освічений українець має розрізняти поняття «українська мова» та «українська літературна мова», «стара українська літературна мова» і «нова українська літературна мова»?
- Чому багато архаїзмів, які й нині живуть в українських діалектах, сучасній українськомовній людині здаються словами російської мови?
- Як уникнути хибних уявлень про українське мовне минуле?
У контексті війни на винищення, яку веде російська федерація проти України, збереження мови набуло статусу екзистенційності. Лекторка і слухачі, які взяли участь у обговоренні, переконані, що говорити про це — на часі, адже загарбник віддавна прагне позбавити нас права на власну мову, культуру й історію, а натомість насадити українцям перекручене уявлення про самих себе.

On April 2, 2024, the academic staff of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities - Head of the Department Tetiana Leshchenko and Senior Lecturer Viktoriia Yufymenko - attended a topical online lecture "Linguistic Identity in the Dimensions of the Historical Memory of Ukrainians". Lecturer: Lidiia Hnatiuk, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Applied Linguistics at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. They discussed important issues related to language:
- Why is the linguistic component of historical memory important for Ukrainians to realize their own national identity and originality?
- Why should an educated Ukrainian distinguish between the concepts of "Ukrainian language" and "Ukrainian literary language," "old Ukrainian literary language" and "new Ukrainian literary language"?
- Why do many of the archaisms that still exist in Ukrainian dialects seem to a modern Ukrainian-speaking person to be words of the Russian language?
- How can we avoid misconceptions about the Ukrainian linguistic past?
In the context of the war of extermination waged by the russian federation against Ukraine, the preservation of the language has acquired the status of existential importance. The lecturer and the audience who took part in the discussion are convinced that it is time to talk about this, because the invader has long sought to deprive us of the right to our own language, culture, and history, and instead to impose a distorted view of ourselves on Ukrainians.
