24 серпня 2026 року, у День Незалежності України, на кафедрі нервових хвороб ПДМУ відбулася зустріч інтернів за спеціальністю «Неврологія» з начальником медичної служби батальйону, капітаном, доцентом кафедри терапевтичної стоматології ПДМУ Оленою Павленковою, яка добровільно проходить військову службу у складі Збройних Сил України.
У зустрічі взяли участь завідувач кафедри нервових хвороб, професор Михайло Дельва та доцент кафедри, відповідальна за виховну роботу, Катерина Гринь.
Під час заходу говорили про особливості медичної практики в умовах війни, організацію медичної допомоги військовослужбовцям та роль лікаря у збереженні здоров’я і життя захисників України. Практичний досвід Олени Павленкової дав можливість інтернам побачити ці питання безпосередньо з досвіду військового медика.
Особливу увагу приділили формуванню патріотизму серед молодих медиків та усвідомленню їхньої професійної відповідальності в умовах війни. Патріотичне виховання сприяє формуванню готовності служити суспільству, відповідально виконувати професійний обов’язок та надавати якісну медичну допомогу навіть у найскладніших умовах.
Для майбутніх неврологів така розмова стала можливістю краще усвідомити виклики, з якими стикаються медики під час війни, значення професійної підготовки та відповідальність лікаря за життя і здоров’я пацієнта.
Зустріч у символічний для кожного українця День Незалежності України стала нагодою поєднати професійне навчання з практичним досвідом військового медика та ще раз наголосити на важливості професійної етики, патріотизму й відповідальності лікаря в сучасних умовах.

On Ukraine’s Independence Day, the Department of Nervous Diseases Discussed the Experience of Military Medicine and Professional Medical Ethics
On 24 August 2026, Ukraine’s Independence Day, the Department of Nervous Diseases of Poltava State Medical University held a meeting between Neurology interns and Captain Olena Pavlenkova, Head of the Medical Service of a battalion and Associate Professor at the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of PSMU, who is voluntarily serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by Professor Mykhailo Delva, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases, and Associate Professor Kateryna Hryn, who is responsible for educational and extracurricular activities at the department.
The event focused on the specific aspects of medical practice during wartime, the organization of medical care for military personnel, and the role of physicians in protecting the health and saving the lives of Ukraine’s defenders. Olena Pavlenkova’s practical experience enabled the interns to gain first-hand insight into these issues from the perspective of a military medical professional.
Particular attention was paid to fostering patriotism among young medical professionals and developing an awareness of their professional responsibility in wartime. Patriotic education contributes to a readiness to serve society, fulfil professional duties responsibly, and provide high-quality medical care even under the most challenging circumstances.
For future neurologists, the discussion provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by medical professionals during wartime, the importance of professional training, and a physician’s responsibility for the life and health of patients.
Held on Ukraine’s Independence Day, a symbolic occasion for every Ukrainian, the meeting provided an opportunity to combine professional education with the practical experience of a military medical professional and once again emphasize the importance of professional ethics, patriotism, and medical responsibility in today’s challenging environment.
