Teaching and Clinical Practice

Since 2015 Professor Maksym Potiazhenko has served as the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Poltava State Medical University.

He is actively involved in teaching medical interns in the specialties of «Internal Medicine» and «Emergency Medicine».

Professor Potiazhenko provides clinical consultations and treatment at the clinical base of the department: the Pulmonology Department and the Educational and Practical Pulmonology Center of the Municipal Institution “M.V. Sklifosovsky Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital of the Poltava Regional Council.”

He holds the  higest qualification category of general practitioner.

Professor Potiazhenko is the author of more than 500 scientific publications, including 40 articles in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, 15 patents of Ukraine for inventions, one monograph, and 24 textbooks.

He has more than 700 citations in Google Scholar and is recognized as one of the leading researchers of Poltava State Medical University based on the Scopus h-index rating (h-index: 6).

Maksym Potiazhenko actively participates in international and national scientific forums and conferences, presenting research findings. He also manages research projects conducted by Interns and young researches, contributing to the development of the next generation of medical professionals.
