Щорічно 27 січня світ вшановує пам’ять жертв Голокосту – трагедії, що стала однією з найтяжчих сторінок ХХ століття. Ця дата встановлена резолюцією Генеральної Асамблеї ООН на згадку про визволення у 1945 році нацистського концентраційного табору Аушвіц-Біркенау.
Унаслідок Голокосту було знищено близько шести мільйонів євреїв, а також мільйони інших людей, котрі стали жертвами нацистського режиму.
Цей день нагадує про необхідність збереження історичної пам’яті, утвердження цінностей людської гідності та недопущення будь-яких проявів ненависті й дискримінації – принципи, які залишаються ключовими для Полтавського державного медичного університету.

27 January – International Holocaust Remembrance Day: The University Honors the Victims of the Tragedy
Every year on 27 January, the world commemorates the victims of the Holocaust – a tragedy that stands as one of the darkest chapters of the 20th century. This date was established by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in remembrance of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945.
As a result of the Holocaust, approximately six million Jews were murdered, along with millions of other people who fell victim to the Nazi regime.
This day serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving historical memory, upholding the values of human dignity, and preventing any manifestations of hatred and discrimination – principles that remain fundamental to Poltava State Medical University.
