Academic Integrity and AI: PSMU Discusses Responsible Use of Technology
Issues of academic integrity and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in education and research were discussed at the Department of Human Anatomy of Poltava State Medical University. The presentation, “Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence: Current State and Challenges,” was delivered by Professor Davyd Avetikov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at PSMU.
The discussion focused on current issues surrounding adherence to the principles of academic integrity amid the active use of artificial intelligence technologies. Particular attention was paid to the responsible and transparent use of AI, the protection of personal and medical data, and the development of digital competencies among academic staff and students.
Special emphasis was placed on the current capabilities of artificial intelligence in education and research, as well as on the responsibility of every member of the academic community to use AI with integrity. It was emphasized that AI can expand the capabilities of educators, researchers, and future physicians while at the same time not replacing professional judgment, responsibility, or academic integrity. Professor Volodymyr Hryn, Head of the Department of Human Anatomy, and the department staff expressed their gratitude to Professor Davyd Avetikov for his insightful presentation, professional dialogue, and attention to important aspects of the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the modern educational environment.
