27 квітня 2026 року в.о. завідувача кафедри внутрішньої медицини з фтизіатрією ПДМУ Наталія Дігтяр та викладачі кафедри Наталія Герасименко, Анна Лавренко, Алла Вородюхіна, Оксана Бєлан, Яніна Авраменко провели тематичний захід зі здобувачами вищої освіти ОПП «Стоматологія», «Медицина» та лікарями-інтернами з фаху «Внутрішні хвороби», присвячений 40-й річниці Чорнобильської катастрофи – однієї з наймасштабніших техногенних катастроф в історії людства.
Під час заходу здобувачі були ознайомилені з історичними фактами аварії на ЧАЕС, її причинами та наслідками для України і світу. Особливу увагу було приділено подвигу ліквідаторів, які ціною власного життя і здоров’я зупинили подальше поширення радіації.
Учасники дізналися про масштаби евакуації населення, зокрема мешканців міста Прип'ять, а також про екологічні та соціальні наслідки трагедії, які відчутні й сьогодні.
Захід супроводжувався презентацією, тематичними матеріалами та обговоренням, що дало змогу студентам глибше усвідомити важливість відповідального ставлення до науково-технічного прогресу та безпеки.
На завершення присутні вшанували пам’ять жертв катастрофи хвилиною мовчання.
Проведення таких заходів сприяє формуванню історичної пам’яті молоді, вихованню громадянської відповідальності та усвідомленню цінності людського життя.

Chernobyl – Pain and Memory of Ukraine: A Thematic Event Held at PSMU
On April 27, 2026, Acting Head of the Department of Internal Medicine with Phthisiology at PSMU, Nataliia Dihtiar, together with faculty members Nataliia Herasymenko, Anna Lavrenko, Alla Vorodiukhina, Oksana Bielan, and Yanina Avramenko, conducted a thematic event for students of the educational programs “Dentistry” and “Medicine,” as well as medical interns specializing in “Internal Medicine.” The event was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster—one of the largest man-made catastrophes in human history.
During the event, participants were introduced to the historical facts of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident, its causes, and its consequences for Ukraine and the world. Special attention was paid to the heroism of the liquidators, who, at the cost of their own lives and health, stopped the further spread of radiation.
Participants also learned about the scale of evacuation of the population, particularly the residents of the city of Prypiat, as well as the environmental and social consequences of the tragedy, which are still felt today.
The event included a presentation, thematic materials, and a discussion, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of responsible attitudes toward scientific and technological progress and safety.
At the end of the event, those present honored the memory of the victims of the disaster with a minute of silence.
Such events contribute to the formation of historical memory among young people, foster civic responsibility, and reinforce awareness of the value of human life.
