18 травня Україна вшановує День пам’яті жертв геноциду кримськотатарського народу – одну з найтрагічніших сторінок сучасної української історії. У цей день згадують події 1944 року, коли сталінський режим здійснив масову депортацію кримських татар з їхньої історичної батьківщини – Криму. Ця трагедія стала спробою знищення цілого народу, його культури, мови та ідентичності.
Відповідно до Постанови Верховної Ради України від 12 листопада 2015 року № 792-VIII депортацію кримськотатарського народу визнано геноцидом, а 18 травня встановлено Днем пам’яті жертв геноциду кримськотатарського народу.
Департамент освіти і науки Полтавської обласної військової адміністрації інформує про надходження листа Представництва Президента України в Автономній Республіці Крим щодо проведення заходів, присвячених цій пам’ятній даті.
У межах підготовки до Дня пам’яті жертв геноциду кримськотатарського народу у закладах освіти в період з 15 до 22 травня 2026 року традиційно проводяться інформаційно-просвітницькі заходи, спрямовані на вшанування пам’яті жертв трагедії, підвищення рівня історичної обізнаності та формування громадянської свідомості. У роботі рекомендовано використовувати надані інформаційні матеріали.

Informational Materials for the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People (for Use in Educational Events)
On May 18, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People — one of the most tragic pages in modern Ukrainian history. On this day, people remember the events of 1944, when the stalinist regime carried out the mass deportation of the Crimean Tatars from their historical homeland, Crimea. This tragedy became an attempt to destroy an entire people, their culture, language, and identity.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated November 12, 2015, No. 792-VIII, the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people was officially recognized as genocide, and May 18 was established as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People.
The Department of Education and Science of the Poltava Regional Military Administration informs about the receipt of a letter from the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea regarding the organization of events dedicated to this commemorative date.
As part of the preparation for the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People, educational institutions traditionally conduct informational and educational activities from May 15 to 22, 2026. These events are aimed at honoring the memory of the victims of the tragedy, increasing historical awareness, and fostering civic consciousness.
