Напередодні Дня довкілля та Всесвітнього дня Землі у читальній залі бібліотеки ПДМУ відбувся просвітницький екозахід «Людина і природа: гармонія чи трагедія» за участі Тараса Курінного – заступника начальника Державної екологічної інспекції Центрального округу та заступника Головного державного інспектора з охорони навколишнього природного середовища Центрального округу (Полтавська та Черкаська області), а також Яни Хлебнікової – старшого державного інспектора з ОНПС ДЕІЦО та Вікторії Монастирської – державного інспектора цієї установи.
Студенти-медики мали виняткову можливість поспілкуватися із професійними експертами у сфері екологічної безпеки та природоохоронної діяльності й дізнатися, як норми раціонального природокористування впроваджуються у реальному житті.
У вступному слові проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи ПДМУ, професор Валерій Похилько наголосив на важливості екологічної освіти та впливі довкілля на здоров’я людини, а також навів конкретні приклади згубного впливу забрудненого середовища на здоров’я та репродуктивну функцію людини.
Під час зустрічі були розглянуті важливі практичні питання, зокрема: утилізація медичних відходів, специфіка вимірювання обсягів шкідливих викидів від підприємств та їх вплив на довкілля, наслідки інтенсивної, тривалої війни в Україні, сучасні методи і прилади вимірювання й моніторингу, які застосовує Інспекція у своїй діяльності.
Екологічні проблеми належать до найактуальніших глобальних проблем людства, адже багато людей не замислюються, що поступове знищення флори і фауни, забруднення води, повітря та ґрунтів призводить до втрати життєво необхідних умов існування, тобто до руйнування нашої Землі і, зрештою, самих основ життя людини.
Директорка бібліотеки Ольга Боровик висловила щиру подяку Тарасу Курінному та інспекторам Державної екологічної інспекції за професійність та готовність ділитися досвідом, за цікаве й корисне спілкування й зазначила, що подібні зустрічі сприяють формуванню відповідальної поведінки щодо дбайливого ставлення до природи у молодого покоління.
Дякуємо кафедрі гігієни та екології ПДМУ за підтримку та активну участь у заході, а також студентам 2-го і 6-го курсів медичного факультету №1.

Human and Nature: Harmony or Tragedy – Environmental Event at the PSMU Library
On the eve of Environment Day and Earth Day, an educational environmental event titled “Human and Nature: Harmony or Tragedy” was held in the reading hall of the PSMU library. The event featured Taras Kurinnyi, Deputy Head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Central District and Deputy Chief State Environmental Inspector of the Central District (Poltava and Cherkasy regions), as well as Yana Khlebnikova, Senior State Environmental Inspector, and Viktoriia Monastyrska, State Environmental Inspector of the same institution.
Medical students had a unique opportunity to engage with professional experts in the field of environmental safety and nature protection and to learn how the principles of rational environmental management are implemented in real life.
In his opening remarks, Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities at PSMU, emphasized the importance of environmental education and the impact of the environment on human health. He also provided specific examples of the harmful effects of environmental pollution on health and reproductive function.
During the meeting, important practical issues were discussed, including the disposal of medical waste, the specifics of measuring harmful emissions from enterprises and their impact on the environment, the consequences of the ongoing full-scale war in Ukraine, as well as modern methods and equipment used by the Inspectorate for monitoring and measurement.
Environmental issues remain among the most pressing global challenges facing humanity, as many people fail to realize that the gradual destruction of flora and fauna, along with the pollution of water, air, and soil, leads to the loss of essential living conditions—ultimately threatening the Earth and the very foundations of human life.
Library Director Olha Borovyk expressed sincere gratitude to Taras Kurinnyi and the inspectors of the State Environmental Inspectorate for their professionalism and willingness to share their experience, for the engaging and informative discussion, and noted that such meetings help foster responsible environmental behavior among the younger generation.
We also thank the Department of Hygiene and Ecology of PSMU for their support and active participation in the event, as well as the 2nd- and 6th-year students of Faculty of Medicine No. 1.
