У межах Європейського тижня громадського здоров’я (EUPHW), який триває з 4 по 8 травня 2026 року, на кафедрі гігієни та екології ПДМУ відбувся круглий стіл, присвячений темі «Інвестиції в стале здоров’я та благополуччя». Серед ключових аспектів обговорення – вакцинація, ментальне здоров’я, безпечне середовище та роль молоді у формуванні культури здоров’я з дитинства.
До участі в заході долучилися фахівці системи громадського здоров’я ДУ «Полтавського обласного центру контролю та профілактики хвороб МОЗ України», науково-педагогічні працівники кафедри гігієни та екології, а також здобувачі вищої освіти медичного факультету (2 курс, 3 група) і стоматологічного факультету (2 курс, 4 група).
Під час обговорення учасники наголосили, що інвестиції у громадське здоров’я – це не лише фінансові та матеріальні ресурси, а й знання, наукові розробки та ефективна міжсекторальна взаємодія. Це інвестиції в майбутнє та стійкість нації. Окрему увагу було приділено поєднанню наукового потенціалу кафедри гігієни та екології ПДМУ і практичного досвіду ДУ «Полтавський ОЦКПХ МОЗ України», що дозволяє впроваджувати сучасні наукові підходи, забезпечувати якісний лабораторний контроль стану довкілля та посилювати епідеміологічний нагляд.
Генеральний директор ДУ «Полтавський ОЦКПХ МОЗ України» Андрій Хайлов підкреслив, що сфера громадського здоров’я виходить далеко за межі медичної системи та охоплює питання екології, освіти й якості життя, а об’єднання зусиль науки і практики є ключем до формування ефективної профілактично орієнтованої системи.
За підсумками круглого столу учасники підтвердили готовність до подальшої співпраці задля реалізації принципу «Здоров’я для всіх» на регіональному рівні.

Round Table on European Approaches to Public Health Held at the PSMU Department of Hygiene and Ecology
As part of the European Public Health Week (EUPHW), which took place from May 4 to 8, 2026, the Department of Hygiene and Ecology of PSMU hosted a round table dedicated to the topic “Investing in Sustainable Health and Well-being.” Key discussion points included vaccination, mental health, a safe environment, and the role of youth in shaping a culture of health from an early age.
The event brought together public health professionals from the State Institution “Poltava Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” academic staff of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology, as well as students of the Medical Faculty (2nd year of study, group 3) and the Dental Faculty (2nd year of study, group 4).
During the discussion, participants emphasized that investments in public health involve not only financial and material resources, but also knowledge, scientific research, and effective intersectoral cooperation. These are investments in the future and resilience of the nation. Particular attention was paid to combining the scientific potential of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology of PSMU with the practical experience of the Poltava Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, enabling the implementation of modern scientific approaches, ensuring high-quality environmental laboratory monitoring, and strengthening epidemiological surveillance.
Andrii Khailov, General Director of the Poltava Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, stressed that public health extends far beyond the healthcare system, encompassing environmental issues, education, and quality of life. He noted that uniting scientific and practical efforts is key to building an effective prevention-oriented system.
Following the round table, participants confirmed their readiness for further cooperation to implement the principle of “Health for All” at the regional level.
