23 липня 2026 року в Полтавському державному медичному університеті відбулися урочистості з нагоди Дня медичного працівника України, який відзначають 27 липня – у день пам’яті святого великомученика і цілителя Пантелеймона, покровителя лікарів.
До університету завітали керівники закладів охорони здоров’я міста й області, представники органів влади, медики, а також науково-педагогічні працівники ПДМУ, щоб разом відзначити професійне свято та вшанувати тих, хто присвятив своє життя служінню людям.
Хвилиною мовчання учасники заходу вшанували пам’ять загиблих захисників і захисниць України, медиків, волонтерів і всіх цивільних, чиї життя забрала російська агресія.
Із професійним святом медичних працівників присутніх привітали: перший заступник начальника Полтавської обласної військової адміністрації Олег Мізік, голова Полтавської обласної ради Олександр Біленький, ректор Полтавського державного медичного університету, професор Вячеслав Ждан, директор Департаменту охорони здоров’я Полтавської обласної військової адміністрації Віктор Лисак, голова постійної комісії Полтавської обласної ради з питань охорони здоров’я та соціального захисту населення Олександр Кудацький, директор Департаменту охорони здоров’я Полтавської міської ради Сергій Котов та голова Професійної спілки працівників охорони здоров’я України в Полтавській області Тетяна Гапон.
Від імені керівництва області Олег Мізік висловив щиру вдячність медикам за щоденну працю, високий професіоналізм і відданість покликанню. Він наголосив, що в умовах війни Полтавщина виконує важливу гуманітарну місію, приймаючи внутрішньо переміщених осіб і військовослужбовців, які потребують лікування та реабілітації. Медики своєю працею повертають людям здоров’я, підтримують у складні моменти та дарують надію на відновлення.
Олександр Біленький подякував фахівцям галузі за самовіддане служіння професії та підкреслив важливість підтримки тих, хто працює як у тилу, так і на передовій. Він також наголосив, що медична сфера й надалі залишається одним із пріоритетів обласної влади, зокрема у питаннях розвитку та підтримки.
Звертаючись до колег, ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан акцентував на важливості суспільного визнання праці медичних працівників і належної державної підтримки. Він підкреслив, що праця лікарів має отримувати справедливу оцінку відповідно до рівня їхньої відповідальності, професіоналізму та вагомої ролі в суспільстві.
Під час урочистостей відбулося вручення грамот і подяк органів місцевого самоврядування та виконавчої влади представникам медичної галузі, науково-педагогічним працівникам ПДМУ та партнерам університету.
Почесними грамотами Полтавської обласної військової адміністрації відзначено представників закладів охорони здоров’я області – лікарів різних спеціальностей, керівників медичних підрозділів, медичних сестер та інших фахівців – за професіоналізм, сумлінну працю та вагомий внесок у розвиток галузі.
Подяками Полтавської обласної ради відзначено проректора з науково-педагогічної та лікувальної роботи ПДМУ, професора Ігоря Ксьонза, та проректора з наукової роботи ПДМУ, професора Ігоря Кайдашева.
Грамотами Департаменту охорони здоров’я Полтавської обласної військової адміністрації нагороджено науково-педагогічних працівників ПДМУ, викладачів Фахового медико-фармацевтичного коледжу, представників Навчально-наукового інституту післядипломної освіти та структурних підрозділів університету.
У свою чергу, ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан вручив подяки від університету за багаторічну співпрацю, професіоналізм і внесок у розвиток медичної освіти та науки. Відзнаки отримали директор Департаменту охорони здоров’я Полтавської ОВА Віктор Лисак, генеральний директор Полтавської обласної клінічної лікарні імені М. В. СкліфосовськогоГригорій Оксак та директор Департаменту охорони здоров’я Полтавської міської ради Сергій Котов.
Під час заходу також вручено інші відзнаки, зокрема від Федерації професійних спілок України.
Урочистості стали нагодою висловити вдячність медикам, викладачам і всім, хто своєю працею розвиває медичну галузь та зміцнює систему охорони здоров’я України.

PSMU Brings Together Poltava Region's Medical Community to Celebrate Medical Worker's Day
On 23 July 2026, Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) hosted a ceremonial celebration marking Ukraine's Medical Worker's Day, observed annually on 27 July, the feast day of Saint Panteleimon the Great Martyr and Healer, the patron saint of physicians.
The event brought together leaders of healthcare institutions from across Poltava and the region, representatives of public authorities, healthcare professionals, and PSMU faculty members to celebrate the medical profession and honor those who have dedicated their lives to caring for others.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in memory of Ukraine's fallen defenders, healthcare workers, volunteers, and civilians whose lives have been lost as a result of russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
Among those addressing the audience were Oleh Mizik, First Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration; Oleksandr Bilenkyi, Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council; Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, Rector of Poltava State Medical University; Viktor Lysak, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration; Oleksandr Kudatskyi, Chair of the Standing Commission of the Poltava Regional Council on Healthcare and Social Protection; Serhii Kotov, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Poltava City Council; and Tetiana Hapon, Chair of the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of Ukraine in Poltava Region.
Speaking on behalf of the regional administration, Oleh Mizik expressed sincere gratitude to healthcare professionals for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and daily service. He noted that, amid the ongoing war, Poltava region continues to fulfil an important humanitarian mission by providing medical care, treatment, and rehabilitation to internally displaced persons and military personnel. Thanks to the dedication of healthcare professionals, thousands of people regain their health, receive support during difficult times, and find hope for recovery.
Oleksandr Bilenkyi thanked healthcare workers for their selfless service and emphasized the importance of supporting medical professionals working both on the home front and close to the front line. He reaffirmed that healthcare remains one of the regional authorities' highest priorities and that continued investment in the sector will remain a key focus.
Addressing his colleagues, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan highlighted the vital role of healthcare professionals in society and stressed the importance of ensuring that their work receives both public recognition and adequate state support. He noted that the medical profession deserves fair recognition commensurate with the high level of responsibility, expertise, and dedication it demands.
A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of Certificates of Honor and Certificates of Appreciation from regional and local authorities to distinguished healthcare professionals, PSMU faculty members, and the university's long-standing partners.
Certificates of Honor from the Poltava Regional Military Administration were awarded to physicians of various specialties, heads of healthcare institutions and departments, nurses, and other medical professionals in recognition of their outstanding professionalism, dedicated service, and significant contribution to the development of healthcare in the region.
Certificates of Appreciation from the Poltava Regional Council were presented to Professor Ihor Ksyonz, PSMU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Clinical Work, and Professor Ihor Kaidashev, PSMU Vice-Rector for Research.
Certificates of Honor from the Healthcare Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration were awarded to PSMU faculty members, lecturers of the Professional Medical and Pharmaceutical College, representatives of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Postgraduate Education, and staff members of the university's academic and administrative units.
On behalf of the university, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan also presented PSMU Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of many years of fruitful cooperation, exceptional professionalism, and valuable contributions to the advancement of medical education and research. The recipients included Viktor Lysak, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration; Hryhorii Oksak, Director General of the M. V. Sklifosovskyi Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital; and Serhii Kotov, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Poltava City Council.
Additional distinctions, including awards presented by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, were also conferred during the ceremony.
The celebration served as an opportunity to express heartfelt appreciation to healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, and all those whose dedication strengthens Ukraine's healthcare system and contributes to the advancement of medical science and education. Their commitment remains especially significant as Ukraine continues to face the challenges of wartime while building a resilient and modern healthcare system.
