15–17 червня 2026 року у Болоньї (Італійська Республіка) відбувся міжнародний конгрес «Дні синдрому подразненого кишечника (СПК) – новітні погляди на покращення лікування» під егідою Римської фундації, Болонського університету, Асоціації гастроентерологів та ендоскопістів Італії, за підтримки Європейського товариства нейрогастроентерології та моторики.
Організатором конгресу є відомий італійський учений, професор Джованні Барбара (Giovanni Barbara), який започаткував проведення цього міжнародного наукового форуму у 2016 році. Відтоді конгрес проводиться один раз на два роки.
Від України у роботі конгресу взяли участь троє професорів, серед яких – проректор з науково-педагогічної роботи та післядипломної освіти, професор кафедри внутрішньої медицини № 1ПДМУ, президент Української гастроентерологічної асоціації Ігор Скрипник.
У перший день конгресу був проведений курс післядипломної освіти, присвячений пошуку шляхів менеджменту пацієнтів із СПК, де розглядалися питання ефективного ведення коморбідних станів, ролі гендерних факторів, застосування діагностичних тестів і дієтичних рекомендацій, доказових аспектів модуляції мікробіоти, а також ролі й місця нейромодуляторівв арсеналі гастроентеролога.
Вітальну доповідь на відкритті конгресу «Харчові відходи та право на харчування: дві сторони однієї тарілки» представив професор кафедри циркулярної економіки та політики сталого розвитку Болонського університету та засновник кампанії «Нуль відходів» Андреа Сегре(Andrea Segrè).
У доповідях на пленарних засіданнях конгресу було висвітлено основні зміни у Римських критеріях V (2026), складні аспекти диференційної діагностики СПК з розглядом центральних і периферичних механізмів абдомінального болю, метаболізму жовчних кислот, генетичних особливостей. Особливу увагу було приділено патофізіологічній модуляції кишкової мікробіотиз розглядом ролі глютену, харчових волокон та застосуванню пробіотиків хворим на СПК.
Важливою складовою роботи конгресу стало безпосереднє спілкування з провідними фахівцями світової гастроентерології. Зокрема, з видатним ученим у галузі нейрогастроентерології, екс-президентом Американської гастроентерологічної асоціації та Американського товариства нейрогастроентерології і моторики, засновником і першим головним редактором журналу «Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology» професором Майклом Каміллері (Michael Camilleri, США).

PSMU Represented Ukraine at International Congress on Neurogastroenterology in Bologna
June 15–17, 2026, Bologna (Italian Republic) hosted the international congress “IBS Days – New Perspectives on Improving Treatment,” held under the auspices of the Rome Foundation, the University of Bologna, and the Association of Gastroenterologists and Endoscopists of Italy, with the support of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility.
The congress was organized by the renowned Italian scientist Professor Giovanni Barbara, who initiated this international scientific forum in 2016. Since then, the congress has been held once every two years.
Three professors from Ukraine took part in the congress, including Professor Ihor Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Education, Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1 at PSMU, and President of the Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association.
On the first day of the congress, a postgraduate education course was held focusing on approaches to managing patients with IBS. It addressed issues such as effective management of comorbid conditions, the role of gender factors, the use of diagnostic tests and dietary recommendations, evidence-based aspects of microbiota modulation, as well as the role and place of neuromodulators in the gastroenterologist’s toolkit.
The opening keynote lecture, “Food Waste and the Right to Food: Two Sides of the Same Plate,” was delivered by Professor Andrea Segrè of the Department of Circular Economy and Sustainable Development Policy at the University of Bologna and founder of the “Zero Waste” campaign.
Plenary session presentations highlighted key updates in the Rome IV Criteria V (2026), complex aspects of the differential diagnosis of IBS, including central and peripheral mechanisms of abdominal pain, bile acid metabolism, and genetic factors. Special attention was given to the pathophysiological modulation of the intestinal microbiota, including the role of gluten, dietary fiber, and the use of probiotics in patients with IBS.
An important part of the congress was direct communication with leading world experts in gastroenterology. In particular, participants had the opportunity to interact with the distinguished scientist in the field of neurogastroenterology, former President of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, and founder and first Editor-in-Chief of the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Professor Michael Camilleri (USA).
