Honoring Our Heroes: PSMU Department of Human Anatomy Holds Educational Event for the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine
On October 1, 2026, the Department of Human Anatomy at Poltava State Medical University held an important patriotic event dedicated to the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine – a day honoring the courage, resilience and bravery of those who defend the freedom, sovereignty and peaceful future of our homeland every day.
The event was organized at the initiative of Volodymyr Hryn, Head of the Department of Human Anatomy. Associate Professors Nataliia Svintsytska and Valentyna Bilash and lecturer Andrii Katsenko were directly involved in organizing the event.
Students of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry actively participated in the patriotic and educational meeting. Those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes and expressed their sincere gratitude to all defenders who stand on the front line protecting our security.
The organizers emphasized that in today’s circumstances, a future physician should be not only a highly qualified professional but also a conscious citizen with strong moral and ethical values. The event included a discussion of the importance of mutual assistance and continued support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the medical front and the military home front function as an interconnected whole.
Patriotic events at the Department of Human Anatomy remain an important part of shaping the well-rounded personality of future physicians, bringing students together around shared values and love for their homeland.
We thank our defenders for the opportunity to study, work and live on our native land!
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
