1 травня 2026 року у Полтавському державному медичному університеті відбулася лекція «Сучасна щелепно-лицева ортопедія», що відбулася в змішаному форматі (онлайн та офлайн) і об’єднала здобувачів освіти та викладачів із різних закладів вищої освіти України.
Лектором виступив Дмитро Філоненко – асистент кафедри щелепно-лицевої хірургії Навчально-наукового інституту стоматології Національного медичного університету імені О.О. Богомольця, лікар-стоматолог-ортопед Центру патології голови та шиї відділення щелепно-лицевої хірургії КНП КОР «Київська обласна клінічна лікарня».
Відкриваючи захід, проректор з навчальної роботи ПДМУ, професор Давид Аветіков представив лектора та наголосив на важливості подібних науково-практичних зустрічей, що об’єднують фахівців різних клінічних напрямів.
Перший проректор з науково-педагогічної роботи ПДМУ, професор Валентин Дворник підкреслив, що щелепно-лицева ортопедія є одним із найскладніших розділів стоматології, який потребує тісної міждисциплінарної взаємодії хірургів, ортодонтів та ортопедів. Окрему увагу він звернув на актуальність спеціальності в умовах воєнного часу, коли зростає кількість складних щелепно-лицевих травм та потреба у реабілітації пацієнтів, зокрема військовослужбовців.
Під час лекції Дмитро Філоненко поділився власним професійним шляхом, зазначивши, що починав як лікар-стоматолог і нині поєднує клінічну практику з викладацькою діяльністю. Він наголосив, що щелепно-лицева ортопедія є міждисциплінарною галуззю, яка формується в тісній взаємодії з хірургією, зокрема в умовах операційної та роботи мультидисциплінарних команд.
Окрему увагу лектор приділив розвитку доказової медицини, необхідності постійного оновлення знань та критичного мислення. Він поділився клінічними кейсами, а також досвідом використання сучасного спеціалізованого програмного забезпечення для протезування та наголосив, що ключовими у роботі лікаря залишаються професіоналізм і людяність, які мотивують до постійного професійного зростання та пошуку ефективних клінічних рішень.
На завершення заходу завідувач кафедри щелепно-лицевої хірургії НМУ імені О.О. Богомольця, доктор медичних наук, професор Юрій Чепурний, який перебував у Полтаві з робочим візитом, відзначив лекцію як змістовну та практично цінну для здобувачів освіти.
Він також наголосив на багатогранності професійного шляху лектора, який поєднує клінічну практику, викладацьку та наукову діяльність, а також активну комунікацію у цифровому просторі, спрямовану на популяризацію медичних знань. Водночас він підкреслив значення міждисциплінарної співпраці у сучасній медицині.
Підсумовуючи, професор закликав студентів не зупинятися у професійному розвитку, постійно вдосконалювати свої знання та залишатися відкритими до нових наукових і клінічних рішень.

Modern Maxillofacial Prosthodontics: Leading Specialist from Bogomolets NMU Delivers Lecture at PSMU
On May 1, 2026, Poltava State Medical University hosted a lecture titled “Modern Maxillofacial Prosthodontics,” held in a hybrid format (online and offline), bringing together students and academic staff from various higher education institutions across Ukraine.
The lecture was delivered by Dmytro Filonenko, Assistant at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Dentistry at Bogomolets National Medical University, and prosthodontist at the Head and Neck Pathology Center of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital.
Opening the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of PSMU, Professor Davyd Avetikov, introduced the speaker and emphasized the importance of such scientific and practical meetings that bring together specialists from different clinical fields.
First Vice-Rector for Research and Education of PSMU, Professor Valentyn Dvornyk, highlighted that maxillofacial prosthodontics is one of the most complex areas of dentistry, requiring close interdisciplinary cooperation between surgeons, orthodontists, and prosthodontists. He also stressed the relevance of this specialty in wartime conditions, when the number of complex maxillofacial injuries increases, along with the need for patient rehabilitation, particularly among military personnel.
During the lecture, Dmytro Filonenko shared his professional journey, noting that he began as a general dentist and now combines clinical practice with teaching. He emphasized that maxillofacial prosthodontics is an interdisciplinary field shaped through close collaboration with surgery, particularly in the operating room and within multidisciplinary teams.
Special attention was given to the development of evidence-based medicine, the necessity of continuous knowledge updating, and critical thinking. The speaker presented clinical cases and shared experience in using modern specialized software for prosthetics, emphasizing that professionalism and humanity remain key qualities in a physician’s work, motivating continuous professional growth and the search for effective clinical solutions.
At the conclusion of the event, Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Bogomolets NMU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yurii Chepurnyi, who was in Poltava on a working visit, described the lecture as informative and practically valuable for students.
He also highlighted the multifaceted professional path of the speaker, who combines clinical practice, teaching, and research activities, along with active communication in the digital space aimed at promoting medical knowledge. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in modern medicine.
Summing up, the professor encouraged students to continue their professional development, constantly improve their knowledge, and remain open to new scientific and clinical solutions.
