1 червня 2026 року в гуртожитку № 1 Полтавського державного медичного університету урочисто відкрили «Green Hub» – сучасний студентський хаб для навчання, волонтерства, командної роботи, творчості та спілкування. Ініціатором створення простору став волонтерський загін «Almino» Студентського парламенту ПДМУ.
У заході взяли участь ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан, проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи Валерій Похилько, проректор з навчальної роботи Давид Аветіков, заступник ректора з адміністративно-господарської роботи Павло Коваль, заступниця декана факультету № 2 Альона Григоренко, т.в.о. завідувача кафедри біології Костянтин Шевченко, ментор проєкту Вікторія Орел, голова громадської організації «Nova United» Юлія Городчаніна, викладачі та студенти університету.
Ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан та голова волонтерського загону «Almino» Ярослав Катриченко символічно перерізали стрічку, офіційно відкривши новий студентський простір.
Під час вітального слова Вячеслав Ждан зазначив, що сучасний лікар має поєднувати професійні знання з людяністю та розвиненими комунікативними навичками, адже слово в медицині може як лікувати, так і завдати шкоди. Він наголосив, що лікар – це не лише фахівець, а й духовний наставник для пацієнтів, який має вміти спілкуватися та підтримувати колег.
Водночас він висловив сподівання, що «Green Hub» стане осередком спілкування між студентами, викладачами та фахівцями, де можна буде ділитися досвідом, навичками, ідеями та баченнями. Окремо ректор підкреслив завдання викладачів – підтримувати студентів і робити все для того, щоб пишатися своїми випускниками, особливо тими, хто вже сьогодні реалізовує такі ініціативи, та подякував лідерам студентського руху.
Проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи, професор Валерій Похилько зазначив, що реалізація проєкту «Green Hub» свідчить про активність і розвиток студентства, яке демонструє лідерські якості та здатність втілювати ініціативи:
«Цей проєкт свідчить про те, що ми рухаємося вперед і є активними, а наше студентство – це лідери. Впевнений, що подібні простори мають бути в кожному гуртожитку. У нас ще є два гуртожитки, і я думаю, що на цьому ми не зупинимося, будуть і нові подібні проєкти. Раніше маскувальні сітки плели просто в коридорах, а тепер для цього є окремий простір. Волонтерський загін «Almino» показав, що є справжнім колективом – дружнім і згуртованим, який не лише говорить, а й працює».
Проректор з навчальної роботи, професор Давид Аветіков акцентував увагу на освітньому потенціалі нового хабу:
«Цей простір створений насамперед для навчання та розвитку студентів. Тут можна проводити тренінги, практичні зустрічі й реалізовувати нові освітні ініціативи».
Ініціатор створення «Green Hub» Ярослав Катриченко розповів, що команда пройшла непростий шлях – від перших задумів до повноцінного облаштування студентського осередку. Ідея створення «Green Hub» виникла з бажання перетворити занедбану читальну залу гуртожитку на комфортний простір для навчання та студентських ініціатив. Важливу роль у реалізації проєкту відіграла участь команди «Almino» в програмі UPSHIFT.
«Було багато труднощів: поєднання ремонту з навчанням, пошук матеріалів, технічні питання. Але найголовніше – ми мали команду, яка не зупинилася. Ми хотіли створити місце, куди студентам захочеться повертатися», – поділився Ярослав Катриченко.
Особливу подяку голова загону висловив студенту стоматологічного факультету Нікіті Лаврентьєву, який активно долучився до реалізації проєкту та надалі координуватиме діяльність студентського простору.
Із понад 150 команд проєкту команда увійшла до ТОП-10. Перед початком реалізації команда провела опитування серед школярів і студентів, що допомогло сформувати концепцію хабу.
У межах проєкту організували 11 заходів, до яких долучилися близько 460 учасників. Студенти також власноруч облаштовували простір: виготовляли меблі, фарбували та облаштовували приміщення.
Голова громадської організації «Nova United» Юлія Городчаніна, яка допомагала у реалізації проєкту, подякувала студентам за активність та небайдужість.
«Простір – це не лише стіни чи меблі. Найголовніше – це сенси та цінності, які вкладають у нього люди. «Green Hub» став місцем, де можна об’єднуватися, волонтерити, навчатися та створювати», – наголосила вона.
Під час заходу започатковано Книгу почесних гостей «Green Hub», де учасники залишили побажання та слова підтримки. Завершилися урочистості врученням подяк усім, хто долучився до реалізації проєкту, та спільним фото.
«Green Hub» уже став місцем для волонтерських заходів, тренінгів та освітніх зустрічей. Учасники проєкту переконані, що простір і надалі розвиватиметься разом зі студентською спільнотою університету, відкриваючи нові можливості для молоді.

PSMU Opens “Green Hub” – A New Student Space in Dormitory No. 1
On June 1, 2026, “Green Hub”, a modern student hub designed for learning, volunteering, teamwork, creativity, and communication, was officially opened in Dormitory No. 1 of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU). The initiative was launched by the “Almino” Volunteer Team of the PSMU Student Parliament.
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, PSMU Rector; Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities; Professor Davyd Avetikov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Pavlo Koval, Deputy Rector for Administrative Affairs; Alona Hryhorenko, Deputy Dean of Faculty No. 2; Kostiantyn Shevchenko, Acting Head of the Department of Biology; Viktoriia Orel, project mentor; Yuliia Horodchanina, Head of the NGO Nova United; as well as faculty members and students.
Professor Viacheslav Zhdan and Yaroslav Katrychenko, Head of the “Almino” Volunteer Team, symbolically cut the ribbon, officially inaugurating the new student space.
In his welcoming speech, Viacheslav Zhdan emphasized that a modern physician must combine professional expertise with compassion and strong communication skills, as words in medicine can both heal and harm. He noted that a doctor is not only a specialist but also a spiritual mentor for patients, capable of providing support and fostering meaningful communication with colleagues.
At the same time, he expressed hope that Green Hub would become a center for interaction among students, faculty members, and professionals, where they could exchange experiences, skills, ideas, and visions. The Rector also highlighted the responsibility of teachers to support students and do everything possible to take pride in their graduates, especially those who are already implementing initiatives such as this one. He thanked the leaders of the student movement for their efforts.
Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities, noted that the implementation of the Green Hub project demonstrates the activity and growth of the student community, which continues to show leadership and initiative:
“This project proves that we are moving forward and remaining active, and that our students are true leaders. I am convinced that similar spaces should exist in every dormitory. We still have two more dormitories, and I believe this is only the beginning—there will be more projects of this kind. In the past, camouflage nets were woven directly in the corridors, but now there is a dedicated space for such activities. The ‘Almino’ Volunteer Team has demonstrated that it is a genuine team—friendly, united, and committed to action rather than words alone.”
Professor Davyd Avetikov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, emphasized the educational potential of the new hub:
“This space has been created primarily for student learning and development. It can host training sessions, practical meetings, and new educational initiatives.”
Yaroslav Katrychenko, the initiator of Green Hub, shared that the team had gone through a challenging journey—from the initial concept to the full renovation and establishment of the student center. The idea emerged from a desire to transform an abandoned dormitory reading room into a comfortable space for learning and student initiatives. Participation in the UPSHIFT program played a significant role in making the project a reality.
“There were many challenges: balancing renovation work with studies, finding materials, and solving technical issues. But most importantly, we had a team that never gave up. We wanted to create a place that students would want to return to,” said Yaroslav Katrychenko.
He expressed special gratitude to Nikita Lavrentiev, a student of the Faculty of Dentistry, who played an active role in implementing the project and will continue coordinating the activities of the student space.
Out of more than 150 project teams, the Green Hub team ranked among the Top 10. Before launching the project, the team conducted surveys among school pupils and university students, which helped shape the concept of the hub.
As part of the project, 11 events were organized, engaging approximately 460 participants. Students also took part in the renovation and furnishing of the space themselves, building furniture, painting, and arranging the premises.
Yuliia Horodchanina, Head of the NGO Nova United, who supported the project’s implementation, thanked the students for their initiative and commitment.
“A space is not just walls or furniture. The most important thing is the values and meanings that people bring into it. Green Hub has become a place where people can unite, volunteer, learn, and create,” she emphasized.
During the event, the Green Hub Book of Honorary Guests was inaugurated, allowing participants to leave wishes and words of encouragement. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to everyone who contributed to the project and a group photograph.
Green Hub has already become a venue for volunteer activities, training sessions, and educational meetings. The project participants are confident that the space will continue to grow alongside the university’s student community, creating new opportunities for young people and fostering their development.
