На кафедрі українознавства та гуманітарної підготовки ПДМУ розпочалося вивчення вибіркового компонента «Академічне письмо», який здобувачі освіти обрали на ярмарку вибіркових дисциплін як актуальний для себе. На першому занятті першокурсники разом із доценткою Оленою Шевченко здійснили віртуальну екскурсію до Музею книги і друкарства України.
Під час екскурсії студенти-стоматологи мали змогу переглянути музейні експозиції, у яких представлені наукові, навчальні та інші писемні тексти, що демонструють значення точного, логічного й послідовного викладу думок. Особливу увагу було зосереджено на значенні писемного слова у збереженні та поширенні наукових знань.
Представлені матеріали стали своєрідним практичним вступом до вивчення академічного письма, адже майбутні лікарі-стоматологи опановуватимуть навички роботи з науковими джерелами, аналізу інформації, аргументованого викладу думок і підготовки академічних текстів. Не менш важливі навички підготовки тез, доповідей, наукових статей та інших видів академічних робіт. Для майбутніх стоматологів така подорож особливо актуальна, адже академічне письмо є важливою складовою професійної підготовки сучасного лікаря.
Віртуальна подорож допомогла студентам побачити зв’язок між історією книги, культурою письма і сучасною науковою комунікацією, а також усвідомити, що вміння грамотно працювати з текстом і науковою інформацією є невід’ємною частиною професійної компетентності майбутнього лікаря.

Into the World of Academic Writing Through the History of the Ukrainian Book
The Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities at Poltava State Medical University has launched the study of the elective course “Academic Writing,” which students selected at the elective course fair as being particularly relevant to their academic needs. During the first class, first-year students, together with Associate Professor Olena Shevchenko, took a virtual tour of the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine.
During the tour, dental students had an opportunity to explore museum exhibitions featuring scientific, educational, and other written texts that demonstrate the importance of presenting ideas accurately, logically, and coherently. Particular attention was paid to the role of the written word in preserving and disseminating scientific knowledge.
The materials presented during the tour provided a practical introduction to the study of academic writing. As future dental practitioners, the students will develop skills in working with scholarly sources, analyzing information, presenting arguments, and preparing academic texts. Equally important are the skills required to prepare abstracts, presentations, research articles, and other types of academic papers. For future dentists, such an experience is especially relevant, as academic writing is an important component of the professional training of a contemporary physician.
The virtual tour helped students discover the connection between the history of the book, the culture of writing, and contemporary scientific communication. It also enabled them to realize that the ability to work effectively with texts and scholarly information is an integral part of the professional competence of a future physician.
