Безбар’єрна комунікація є важливою складовою взаємодії між людьми та особливої актуальності набуває у сфері охорони здоров’я. Для майбутнього лікаря важливо не лише володіти професійними знаннями, а й уміти налагодити комунікацію з кожним пацієнтом, незалежно від його індивідуальних потреб.
З цією метою за ініціативи волонтерського загону «Єдність» Полтавського державного медичного університету для студентів було організовано навчальний тренінг з основ жестової мови.
Під час тренінгу учасники дізналися більше про особливості жестової мови та коректне спілкування з людьми з порушеннями слуху, ознайомилися з правилами безбар’єрної комунікації.
Важливою частиною навчання стала практика. Студенти відпрацьовували жести та моделювали різні комунікативні ситуації, зокрема ті, що можуть виникати у професійній діяльності медичного працівника.
Для майбутніх лікарів такі навички мають практичне значення, адже якісна медична допомога неможлива без ефективної комунікації між лікарем і пацієнтом. Розуміння особливостей спілкування з людьми з порушеннями слуху допомагає створювати доступніше та комфортніше середовище під час отримання медичної допомоги.
Тренінг провела Наталія Московець – перекладачка жестової мови, директорка ГО «Перекладачі жестової мови та людей з інвалідністю “МІСТ”», голова конфліктної комісії ГО «Всеукраїнська асоціація перекладачів жестової мови та людей з інвалідністю».
Голова волонтерського загону «Єдність» Ая Бустанжі висловлює щиру вдячність пані Наталії Московець за відкритість, доступність пояснень та готовність ділитися зі студентами своїм досвідом і знаннями. Також дякуємо ГО «Всеукраїнська асоціація перекладачів жестової мови та людей з інвалідністю» за сприяння у проведенні навчання.
Окремо висловлюємо вдячність Департаменту культури, молоді та сім’ї Полтавської міської ради за підтримку ініціативи та фінансування проведення тренінгу.
Знання жестової мови – це не лише нова навичка для студентів, а й важливий крок до формування професійної культури майбутнього лікаря, у якій повага до пацієнта, доступність комунікації та увага до його потреб є невід’ємними складовими медичної допомоги.
Безбар’єрність починається з бажання зрозуміти одне одного.

Volunteers of the PSMU “Yednist” Volunteer Unit Learn the Basics of Sign Language
Barrier-free communication is an important component of interaction between people and is particularly relevant in healthcare. For future doctors, it is important not only to have professional knowledge but also to be able to establish communication with every patient, regardless of their individual needs.
With this in mind, the “Yednist” Volunteer Unit of Poltava State Medical University organized a training session on the basics of sign language for students.
During the training, participants learned more about the specific features of sign language and appropriate communication with people with hearing impairments, as well as the principles of barrier-free communication.
Practical exercises were an important part of the training. The students practiced various signs and simulated different communication situations, including those that may arise in the professional activities of healthcare professionals.
For future doctors, these skills are of practical importance, as quality medical care is impossible without effective communication between a doctor and a patient. Understanding the specific features of communicating with people with hearing impairments helps create a more accessible and comfortable environment when receiving medical care.
The training was conducted by Nataliia Moskovets, a sign language interpreter, Director of the NGO “Sign Language Interpreters and People with Disabilities ‘MIST’”, and Chair of the Conflict Commission of the NGO “All-Ukrainian Association of Sign Language Interpreters and People with Disabilities”.
Aya Boustangi, Head of the “Yednist” Volunteer Unit, expresses her sincere gratitude to Ms Nataliia Moskovets for her openness, clear explanations, and willingness to share her experience and knowledge with the students. We also thank the NGO “All-Ukrainian Association of Sign Language Interpreters and People with Disabilities” for supporting the organization of the training.

Knowledge of sign language is not merely a new skill for students but also an important step towards developing the professional culture of future doctors, in which respect for the patient, accessible communication, and attention to their needs are integral components of healthcare.
