World Anatomy Day at PSMU: Bringing Together Tradition, Science, and Innovation
On October 15, World Anatomy Day, the Department of Human Anatomy at Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) hosted a scientific and educational event dedicated to the history of the anatomical school, modern approaches to teaching, and the introduction of innovative technologies in the study of human anatomy.
The event was initiated and conducted under the overall guidance of Professor Volodymyr Hryn, Head of the Department of Human Anatomy at PSMU, with the participation of the department’s academic staff.
Students from the Medical and Dental Faculties took part in the discussion. The event was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance with remote participation. Participants explored the history of the anatomical school, discussed current trends in teaching fundamental disciplines, and examined the role of innovative technologies in the study of human anatomy.
During the event, the speakers emphasized that anatomical knowledge is fundamental to clinical reasoning, the professional training of future physicians, and patient safety. Anatomy is the foundation of medical knowledge, the basis of clinical practice, and the key to understanding the complex and harmonious structure of the human body.
Participants also learned about the department’s scientific achievements, teaching traditions, and modern multimedia tools used in the educational process.
Congratulations to all academic staff, researchers, and students on World Anatomy Day! We wish you inspiration, new scientific achievements, intellectual curiosity, and continued professional development!
