Background
Maksim Potyazhenko is a Ukrainian therapist who has dedicated himself to studying Non-communicable diseases. Professor Maksim Potyazhenko during his professional activity paid attention to such main scientific directions as studying the features of the clinical course, diagnostics and treatment of combined pathology of internal organs; the influence of harmful environmental factors on the development and progression of bronchopulmonary pathology and the development of methods of differentiated therapy and rehabilitation; experimental and clinical substantiation of the use of antioxidants in the complex therapy of diabetic angiopathies; optimization of the use of information and communication technologies in clinical medicine and postgraduate medical education; improvement of methods of therapy and prevention of latent forms of syphilis" to study the prevalence and clinical and epidemiological features of latent forms of syphilis and optimization of treatment and preventive methods for preventing this disease; development of improved methods of diagnosis and complex treatment of chronic dermatoses and infections, which are mainly sexually transmitted, taking into account the identification of additional factors significant in the pathogenesis of these diseases"; development of algorithms and technologies for introducing a healthy lifestyle in patients with non-communicable diseases based on the study of psycho-emotional status. In recent years, he has initiated the extrapolation of modern knowledge of quantum physics into medical science, is the founder of ideas on the conceptualization of the role of electromagnetic fields in the functioning of the human body, and co-author of the Magnetoelectrochemical Theory of Metabolism and Life. These studies deepen fundamental knowledge about the pathogenesis of Noncommunicable diseases, and a new educational and scientific project, "Bioelectronic Medicine, or Look at Medicine Differently," was initiated.
Maksim Potyazhenko is the author of 500 research publications, including 40 articles in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, 15 patents in Ukraine for inventions, one monograph, and 24 textbooks.
