Background

Vyacheslav Zhdan is a distinguished Ukrainian physician, researcher, and academic leader, serving as Rector of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) and Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Therapy. With a career spanning over three decades, he has made significant contributions to family medicine, internal medicine, and rheumatology. He previously served as Rector of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (UMSA) from 2003 to 2021, before its integration into PSMU. Zhdan is a prolific researcher with over 564 scientific publications, including 35 articles in Scopus-indexed journals (h-index: 8), and holds 54 copyright certificates, patents, information notices.
He is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Ukrainian Association of Family Medicine, the Association of Rheumatologists of Ukraine,the Polish Public Health Society, and the Ukrainian Association of Internists.
