Напередодні Міжнародного дня боротьби за права жінок 6 березня кафедра філософії та суспільних наук ПДМУ провела особливу зустріч для студентів І та ІІ курсів ОПП «Медицина», «Стоматологія», «Фізична реабілітація, ерготерапія», включно з іноземними студентами. Захід, присвячений 105-й річниці Полтавського державного медичного університету, став даниною шани нашим випускницям та співробітницям, які змінили білі халати на військову службу.
«Це історії про надлюдську силу, де кожне рішення – швидке й точне, а кожна дія – під звуки вибухів. Вони працюють там, де найбільше болить. Там, де найважче – і найпотрібніше», – зазначила на початку заходу виконувачка обов’язків завідувача кафедри філософії та суспільних наук Вікторія Каюн.
З вітальним словом до учасників звернувся проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи, професор Валерій Похилько. Він наголосив на особливій місії жінки в умовах війни та висловив глибоку вдячність медикиням, які стали на захист держави, поєднавши тендітність із незламною волею.
Співробітниці та сотні випускниць ПДМУ тримають медичний фронт як: бойові медикині та лікарки евакуаційних бригад; хірургині, травматологині та анестезіологині; військові стоматологині у пересувних мобільних стоматологічних кабінетах; інструкторки з тактичної медицини.
Почесною гостею заходу стала Олена Школьна – випускниця ПДМУ 2022 року. Її шлях вражає: від медикині Першого добровольчого мобільного шпиталю (ПДМШ) ім. Миколи Пирогова до завідувачки інформаційно-аналітичного відділу КП «4-а міська клінічна лікарня Полтавської міської ради імені Леоніда Куроєдова».
Разом зі студентами переглянули документальну стрічку «Лікарі. Більше не в білому» (проєкт телеканалу «Дім»), де Олена – одна з героїнь фільму. Після перегляду вона щиро ділилася зі студентами: про героїзм побратимів та посестер; про внутрішні зміни та психологічну стійкість; про те, як бути лікарем, коли доводиться ставати воїном.
Мета зустрічі – показати майбутнім лікарям, що медицина – не лише фах, а й величезна відповідальність перед країною та власним сумлінням.

Women-Guardians in Pixelated Uniform: Stories of PSMU Graduates and Staff Defending Ukraine
On the eve of the International Women’s Day, on March 6, the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) held a special meeting for first- and second-year students of the educational programmes Medicine, Dentistry, and Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, including international students. The event, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of Poltava State Medical University, became a tribute to the university’s graduates and staff members who replaced their white medical coats with military service.
“These are stories of superhuman strength, where every decision must be quick and precise, and every action takes place under the sound of explosions. They work where the pain is greatest — where it is the hardest and most necessary,” noted Viktoriia Kaiun, Acting Head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences, at the beginning of the event.
Participants were also welcomed by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities, Professor Valerii Pokhylko. He emphasized the special mission of women in wartime and expressed deep gratitude to female medical professionals who have taken up the defense of the country, combining gentleness with unwavering determination.
Female staff members and hundreds of graduates of PSMU are holding the medical frontline as:
combat medics and doctors in evacuation teams;
surgeons, traumatologists, and anesthesiologists;
military dentists working in mobile dental clinics;
instructors in tactical medicine.
The honorary guest of the event was Olena Shkolna, a 2022 graduate of PSMU. Her professional path is remarkable: from a medic with the First Volunteer Mobile Hospital named after Mykola Pirogov to the Head of the Information and Analytical Department of the Municipal Enterprise “4th City Clinical Hospital of the Poltava City Council named after Leonid Kuroiedov.”
Together with the students, participants watched the documentary “Doctors. No Longer in White” (a project of the “Dim” TV channel), in which Olena is one of the featured protagonists. After the screening, she sincerely shared her experiences with the students: about the heroism of her brothers- and sisters-in-arms; about internal changes and psychological resilience; and about what it means to remain a doctor when circumstances require becoming a warrior.
The purpose of the meeting was to show future doctors that medicine is not only a profession but also a profound responsibility to the country and to one’s own conscience.
