26 лютого 2026 року студентська спільнота Полтавського державного медичного університету провела Студентський бал-маскарад – подію, що поєднала елегантність, молодість, мистецтво та благородну мету. Захід відбувся у Полтавському художньому музеї (галереї мистецтв) імені М. Ярошенка. Атмосфера вечора була сповнена краси, музики й натхнення та водночас щирого прагнення підтримати тих, хто захищає нашу країну.
Цьогоріч бал мав благодійну місію – збір коштів на пристрій радіоелектронної розвідки, детектор дронів «Чуйка 3.0», для 14-ї бригади Збройних сил України. Це вже другий благодійний бал, організований студентами університету, що засвідчує сталість ініціативи та її важливу суспільну спрямованість.
На вході до зали розмістили благодійні скриньки та QR-код для зручного онлайн-донату. Кожен внесок гостей ставав кроком до посилення безпеки українських військових.
Свято відкрив урочистий танець, який одразу задав піднесений і вишуканий тон вечору. Після завершення вальсу гостей очікував емоційний музичний номер – пісню «Пів століття ще є» виконали проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи, професор Валерій Похилько, та студентка 5 курсу, голова Студентського парламенту ПДМУ Ольга Резніченко.
Композиція створена на слова заслуженої діячки мистецтв України, журналістки та поетеси Марії Бойко, яка була присутня на заході. Виступ став щирою окрасою свята і викликав теплі оплески глядачів.
Асистентка кафедри фізичної та реабілітаційної медицини ПДМУ, хореограф-постановниця проєкту Ірина Люблінська зазначила, що подібні заходи мають значно глибше значення, ніж просто святкове дозвілля. Вони формують естетичний смак, культуру поведінки та спілкування, виховують взаємоповагу і допомагають молоді цінувати мистецтво та традиції.
Однією з ключових подій вечора став благодійний аукціон. На торги виставили унікальний лот – військову гільзу, розписану в українському стилі та підписану поетом, письменником і волонтером Сергієм Жаданом.
Кульмінацією святкового вечора стало обрання Короля та Королеви балу. Пари виходили на паркет, демонструючи грацію, артистизм і щирі емоції, а журі разом із глядачами визначали переможців оплесками.
За результатами голосування корону балу здобули Анна Гребенюк, студентка 5 курсу медичного факультету №1 ПДМУ, та Владислав Бура, лікар-інтерн. Для них ця перемога стала несподіванкою. Пара зізналася, що не ставила за мету здобути титул і танцювала передусім для власного задоволення, насолоджуючись кожною миттю на паркеті.
Студентський бал-маскарад став не лише святом краси та молодості, а й прикладом свідомої громадянської позиції. Він засвідчив, що навіть у складні часи українська молодь знаходить сили творити, надихати й допомагати.

PSMU Charity Masquerade Ball: Elegance, Culture and Support for Ukrainian Defenders
On February 26, 2026, the student community of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) held a Student Charity Masquerade Ball — an event that combined elegance, youth, art and a noble mission. The celebration took place at the Poltava Art Museum (Mykola Yaroshenko Art Gallery). The atmosphere of the evening was filled with beauty, music and inspiration, along with a sincere desire to support those defending our country.
This year, the ball had a charitable purpose — raising funds to purchase a radio-electronic reconnaissance device, the drone detector “Chuika 3.0,” for the 14th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was the second charity ball organized by university students, demonstrating the continuity of the initiative and its important social focus.
Charity donation boxes and a QR code for convenient online contributions were placed at the entrance to the hall. Every donation from the guests became another step toward strengthening the safety of Ukrainian service members.
The celebration opened with a ceremonial dance that immediately set an elevated and refined tone for the evening. After the waltz, the audience enjoyed an emotional musical performance of the song “Half a Century Still Lies Ahead,” performed by Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities, and Olha Reznichenko, the fifth-year student, Head of the PSMU Student Parliament.
The composition was created based on the lyrics of Honored Artist of Ukraine, journalist and poet Mariia Boiko, who attended the event. The performance became a heartfelt highlight of the evening and received warm applause from the audience.
Iryna Liublinska, Assistant at the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at PSMU and choreographer of the project, noted that such events have a much deeper meaning than simply festive leisure. They cultivate aesthetic taste, culture of behavior and communication, foster mutual respect, and help young people appreciate art and traditions.
One of the key moments of the evening was the charity auction. A unique lot was presented — a military shell casing painted in Ukrainian style and signed by poet, writer, and volunteer Serhii Zhadan.
The culmination of the festive evening was the crowning of the King and Queen of the Ball. Couples stepped onto the parquet floor, demonstrating grace, artistry, and sincere emotions, while the jury together with the audience determined the winners by applause.
According to the voting results, the crowns were awarded to Anna Hrebeniuk, a fifth-year student of Medical Faculty No. 1 at PSMU, and Vladyslav Bura, a medical intern. The victory came as a surprise to them. The pair admitted that they had not aimed to win the title and danced primarily for their own enjoyment, savoring every moment on the floor.
The Student Charity Masquerade Ball became not only a celebration of beauty and youth, but also an example of conscious civic engagement. It demonstrated that even in challenging times, Ukrainian youth find the strength to create, inspire, and help.
The event was organized by the PSMU Student Parliament with the support of the Rector of the university, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan.
