2026 рік, відповідно до постанови Верховної Ради України від 18 грудня 2025 року №4748-ІХ, присвячений 100-річчю дня пам’яті Симона Петлюри — видатного земляка, голови Директорії та Головного Отамана військ і флоту часів Української Народної Республіки. З нагоди ювілею кафедра філософії та суспільних наук ПДМУ розпочала ряд інформаційно-просвітницьких та виховних заходів, спрямованих на вшанування пам’яті видатного державного діяча.
8 січня 2026 року кафедра організувала для студентів IV курсу ОПП «Медицина» кіноперегляд історично-біографічної стрічки режисера Олеся Янчука «Таємний щоденник Симона Петлюри».
Сюжет фільму охоплює період життя Симона Петлюри, коли він перебував у еміграції в Парижі, та до трагічного моменту його вбивства анархістом Самуїлом Шварцбардом. Історія показує не лише план знищення Петлюри, а й останні дні його життя. Драматургічний прийом — ведення щоденника самим Петлюрою — переносить глядачів із Парижа до подій в Україні у період існування УНР, коли країна здобула незалежність, але не змогла її втримати.
Фільм викликав у студентів зацікавленість та жваву дискусію. Здобувачі освіти активно висловлювали власну думку, обговорюючи історичні події та даючи оцінку рішенню та діям керівників того часу.
Проведений кіноперегляд є важливою частиною просвітницької роботи ПДМУ, адже дозволяє студентам зберігати історичну пам’ять, формувати патріотичну свідомість та розуміння складності боротьби за незалежність України.

PSMU Honors the Memory of Symon Petliura: Film Screening for Students
According to the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of 18 December 2025 No. 4748-IX, the year 2026 is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of Symon Petliura—a prominent native of the region, Head of the Directorate, and Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the Ukrainian People’s Republic.
To mark this anniversary, the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) launched a series of informational, educational, and outreach activities aimed at honoring the memory of the distinguished statesman.
On 8 January 2026, the Department organized a film screening for 4th-year students of the Medicine study program, featuring the historical and biographical film by director Oles Yanchuk, “The Secret Diary of Symon Petliura.”
The film covers the period of Symon Petliura’s life in exile in Paris up to the tragic moment of his assassination by anarchist Samuel Schwartzbard. It portrays not only the plot to eliminate Petliura, but also the final days of his life. A key dramatic device—the diary kept by Petliura himself—transports viewers from Paris to events in Ukraine during the era of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, when the country gained independence but was unable to preserve it.
The screening sparked strong interest and lively discussion among students. Participants actively shared their views, discussed historical events, and evaluated the decisions and actions of the leaders of that time.
Such film screenings are an important part of PSMU’s educational mission, helping students preserve historical memory, develop patriotic awareness, and better understand the complexity of Ukraine’s struggle for independence.
