1 вересня кафедра внутрішньої медицини № 2 Полтавського державного медичного університету відзначила 50-річний ювілей. Кафедру було створено 1975 року на базі Полтавської обласної клінічної лікарні ім. М. В. Скліфосовського — це стало початком формування потужної терапевтичної школи університету, яка й досі успішно розвивається. Урочистості з нагоди ювілею відбулися 18 вересня 2025 року у 5-й аудиторії ПДМУ.
Слова привітань лунали від представників ректорату, деканатів, завідувачів кафедр, головних лікарів закладів охорони здоров’я, партнерів та представників влади.
З вітальним словом виступив ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан, який принагідно поділився спогадами про своє навчання:
«На цій кафедрі мені теж пощастило здобувати ази медицини й терапевтичної школи. Є чимало приємних і повчальних спогадів. Упродовж усього часу — від навчання, і лікарської роботи до сьогодні, коли очолюю університет, — бачу, що колектив змінювався, але залишався потужним у науці та практиці. Найцінніше — це ставлення до людей і студентів, яке сформувалося протягом 50 років. Це здобуток не лише окремих людей, а й усього колективу ПДМУ. Бажаю здоров’я, успіхів і мирного неба!».
Своє вітальне слово сказав і протоієрей Микола Храпач та вручив грамоту Православної церкви України завідувачу кафедри, професору Івану Катеринчуку та колективу. Він наголосив на духовній місії викладачів-медиків:
«Ви вкладаєте душу у студентів, виконуючи найбільшу заповідь Божу — любов до ближнього. Ви — місцеві Боткіни й Стражески, бо вже два покоління працюєте на цій ниві. Щиро дякую вам!».
Заступник голови Полтавської ОВА Олександр Лемешко наголосив на значенні роботи кафедри в умовах воєнного часу. Він подякував лікарям від імені обласної влади та депутатського корпусу й наголосив, що ювілей кафедри — це не лише підтвердження її успіху, а й свідчення нових викликів попереду:
«Медична освіта сьогодні є одним із пріоритетів нашої країни. У Полтавській області впроваджено найкращі практики, а досвід надання якісної медичної допомоги під час війни, який ви вже напрацювали й продемонстрували, — безцінний. Тож продовжуємо працювати разом із повагою та вірою в успіх!».
Учасники святкування переглянули виставку-перегляд літератури «Досвід вартий наслідування», підготовлену бібліотекою ПДМУ, та фотоекспозицію з історії кафедри, де були представлені ретросвітлини, люб’язно надані завідувачем кафедри, доктором медичних наук, професором Іваном Катеринчуком.
Подруга кафедри, полтавська художниця Тетяна Палько також привітала лікарів і подарувала картину із символічною назвою «Молитва», а народний аматорський вокальний ансамбль «Мальви» ПДМУ виконав пісню про Полтаву.
Особливою подією стало вручення відзнак і подяк співробітникам кафедри від Міністерства охорони здоров’я України, Полтавської обласної ради, виконавчого комітету Полтавської міської ради та керівництва ПДМУ.
На завершення урочистостей гостям було запропоновано 30-хвилинний фільм «Кафедра внутрішньої медицини № 2 — історія і сучасність. Люди, події, факти».
Ювілей кафедри став нагодою підбити підсумки півстоліття роботи, відзначити досягнення колективу та окреслити нові завдання у підготовці фахівців і розвитку медичної науки.

Half a century of the therapeutic school: the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2 of the Poltava State Medical University celebrated its anniversary
On September 1, the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2 of the Poltava State Medical University celebrated its 50th anniversary. The department was established in 1975 on the basis of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M. V. Sklifosovsky, which marked the beginning of the formation of a powerful therapeutic school at the university, which continues to develop successfully to this day. The anniversary celebrations took place on September 18, 2025, in Lecture Room 5 of the Poltava State Medical University.
Words of congratulations were heard from representatives of the rector's office, deans, department heads, chief physicians of healthcare institutions, partners, and government officials.
The rector of PSMU, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, gave a welcoming speech and shared his memories of his studies:
"I was also fortunate to learn the basics of medicine and therapeutic school at this department. I have many pleasant and instructive memories. Throughout my entire career, from my studies and medical work to today, when I head the university, I have seen the team change, but remain strong in science and practice. The most valuable thing is the attitude towards people and students that has been formed over 50 years. This is an achievement not only of individuals, but of the entire PSMU team. I wish you health, success, and peaceful skies!"
Protopriest Mykola Khrapach also gave a congratulatory speech and presented a certificate from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to the head of the department, Professor Ivan Katerynchuk, and the team. He emphasized the spiritual mission of medical teachers:
“You put your heart and soul into your students, fulfilling God's greatest commandment—love thy neighbor. You are the local Botkins and Strazheskas, because you have been working in this field for two generations. Thank you very much!”
Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration Oleksandr Lemeshko emphasized the importance of the department's work in wartime. He thanked the doctors on behalf of the regional authorities and the deputy corps and stressed that the department's anniversary is not only a confirmation of its success but also evidence of new challenges ahead:
“Medical education is one of our country's priorities today. Best practices have been implemented in the Poltava region, and the experience you have gained and demonstrated in providing quality medical care during the war is invaluable. So let's continue to work together with respect and faith in success!”
Participants in the celebration viewed an exhibition of literature entitled “Experience Worth Emulating,” prepared by the PSMU library, and a photo exhibition on the history of the department, which featured retro photographs kindly provided by the head of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ivan Katerynchuk.
A friend of the department, Poltava artist Tetiana Palko, also congratulated the doctors and presented them with a painting with the symbolic title “Prayer,” and the PSMU folk amateur vocal ensemble “Malvy” performed a song about Poltava.
A special event was the presentation of awards and letters of appreciation to the department staff from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Poltava Regional Council, the Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council, and the leadership of PSMU.
At the end of the celebrations, guests were shown a 30-minute film entitled “Department of Internal Medicine No. 2 — History and Present Day. People, Events, Facts.”
The department's anniversary provided an opportunity to take stock of half a century of work, celebrate the team's achievements, and outline new tasks in the training of specialists and the development of medical science.
