11 березня 2026 року на кафедрі фізичної та реабілітаційної медицини ПДМУ відбувся І етап Всеукраїнської студентської олімпіади зі спеціальності Фізична терапія, ерготерапія, у якому взяли участь понад 60 студентів. До заходу долучився гарант ОПП «Фізична терапія та ерготерапія», декан медичного факультету №2 ПДМУ, професор Валерій Жамардій.
Метою олімпіади було виявлення та підтримка обдарованих студентів, стимулювання їхнього наукового та професійного зростання, а також підвищення якості підготовки майбутніх фахівців у сфері терапії та реабілітації.
Учасники виконували комплексні завдання підвищеної складності, що включали тестові питання, теоретичні завдання та аналіз клінічних кейсів. Завдання перевіряли знання з обов’язкових дисциплін, зокрема: «Основи практичної діяльності у терапії та реабілітації (вступ до спеціальності)», «МКФ та МКФ ДП (обстеження й оцінка стану здоров’я пацієнта/клієнта)», «Терапевтичні вправи», «Масажні терапевтичні техніки», «Ерготерапія при порушеннях діяльності внутрішніх органів та опорно-рухового апарату».
За результатами оцінювання робіт журі визначило переможців, які продемонстрували відмінний рівень володіння матеріалом, творчий підхід до виконання завдань, здатність до аналітичного та клінічного мислення, розуміння принципів доказової практики, а також здатність застосовувати теоретичні знання для вирішення практичних професійних ситуацій.
І місце у відповідних напрямах вибороли: Аліна Голуб (2 курс), Маргарита Жакун (3 курс), Анна Скрипник (3 курс), Віталій Гречка (3 курс)
ІІ місце: Єлизавета Мірошніченко (2 курс), Катерина Алєксандрова (3 курс), Валерія Олефіренко (2 курс), Володимир Покотило (3 курс)
ІІІ місце: Яна Городнича (2 курс), Сергій Костенко (2 курс), Софія Остапенко (3 курс), Ростислав Середа (3 курс)
Особливою родзинкою заходу став майстер-клас «Парадокси тілесного болю» від доцента кафедри фізичної та реабілітаційної медицини Євгена Страшка. Він не лише допоміг здобувачам корисно провести час очікування результатів Олімпіади, а й значною мірою сприяв кращому зрозумінню механізму виникнення болю, навчив застосовувати сучасні підходи до роботи з пацієнтами, які мають больові синдроми.
Олімпіада сприяє формуванню професійної мотивації, розвитку клінічного мислення та популяризації спеціальності Фізична терапія та ерготерапія. Переможці І етапу нагороджені дипломами відповідного ступеня та цінними призами, усі учасники отримали сертифікати.

PSMU Students Competed in the First Stage of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy
On March 11, 2026, the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of PSMU hosted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the specialty “Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy.” More than 60 students took part in the event. Among the participants was the guarantor of the Educational and Professional Program “Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy,” Dean of Medical Faculty No. 2 of PSMU, Professor Valerii Zhamardii.
The aim of the Olympiad was to identify and support talented students, stimulate their scientific and professional growth, and enhance the quality of training for future specialists in therapy and rehabilitation.
Participants completed complex tasks of increased difficulty, including test questions, theoretical assignments, and the analysis of clinical cases. The tasks assessed knowledge in core disciplines such as “Fundamentals of Practical Activities in Therapy and Rehabilitation (Introduction to the Specialty),” “ICF and ICF-CY (Examination and Assessment of the Patient’s/Client’s Health Condition),” “Therapeutic Exercises,” “Therapeutic Massage Techniques,” and “Occupational Therapy for Disorders of Internal Organs and the Musculoskeletal System.”
Based on the jury’s evaluation, the winners were determined. They demonstrated an excellent level of knowledge, a creative approach to solving tasks, strong analytical and clinical thinking skills, an understanding of the principles of evidence-based practice, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical professional situations.

A special highlight of the event was the master class “Paradoxes of Bodily Pain” delivered by Associate Professor Yevhen Strashko of the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. The session not only helped students make productive use of the time while waiting for the Olympiad results but also significantly contributed to a better understanding of the mechanisms of pain and introduced modern approaches to working with patients experiencing pain syndromes.
The Olympiad contributes to the development of professional motivation, the formation of clinical thinking, and the promotion of the specialty Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The winners of the first stage were awarded diplomas of the respective degree and valuable prizes, while all participants received certificates.
