9 березня 2026 року кафедра громадського здоров’я, менеджменту та медичної експертизи ПДМУ долучилася до вшанування пам’яті Великого Кобзаря – Тараса Григоровича Шевченка. З нагоди його дня народження проведено особливий виховний захід, який зібрав студентів 4 курсу, 9 та 4 груп медичного факультету №1. Мета зустрічі – переосмислити багатогранність постаті Шевченка та наголосити на актуальності його творчості.
Ми звикли бачити Шевченка як геніального поета, художника та мислителя української нації. Цього разу його прагнули показати студентам з іншого боку – як людину, чия боротьба за свободу, гідність та правду є прикладом незламності духу, що важливо для тих, хто обрав шлях служіння людям.
Під час заходу були зачитані улюблені вірші Тараса. Студенти ділилися власними роздумами про те, як його творчість резонує з викликами сьогодення та з важливістю професії медика в сучасній Україні.

Taras Shevchenko Inspires Future Doctors of PSM
On March 9, 2026, the Department of Public Health, Management and Medical Expertise of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) joined the commemoration of the Great Kobzar — Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko. On the occasion of his birthday, a special educational event was held, bringing together fourth-year students of Groups 9 and 4 of Medical Faculty No. 1. The aim of the meeting was to reconsider the multifaceted personality of Shevchenko and emphasize the relevance of his work today.
We are accustomed to seeing Shevchenko as a brilliant poet, artist, and thinker of the Ukrainian nation. This time, however, the organizers sought to present him to students from another perspective — as a person whose struggle for freedom, dignity, and truth serves as an example of an unbreakable spirit, which is particularly important for those who have chosen the path of serving people.
During the event, students read their favorite poems by Shevchenko. They also shared their reflections on how his works resonate with the challenges of the present day and with the significance of the medical profession in modern Ukraine.
