13 березня у Полтавському державному медичному університеті відбувся захід напередодні Дня українського добровольця, який щороку відзначають 14 березня. Цей день присвячений людям, які стали на захист України за покликом серця.
Зі словами вдячності до військових звернувся проректор з науково-педагогічної та виховної роботи ПДМУ, професор Валерій Похилько, наголосивши, що університетська спільнота постійно підтримує українських захисників та захисниць, а більшість мистецьких заходів у закладі мають благодійне спрямування.
Почесними гостями стали представники 116-ї артилерійської батареї територіальної оборони (військова частина А7044), зокрема лейтенант Олександр Дігтяр та молодший сержант Анатолій Колісник, а також представник громадської організації «Захист держави», учасник бойових дій Степан Чуприна.
Під час зустрічі військові поділилися власними думками про значення добровольчого руху.
«Добровольці – це справжні титани. З перших днів війни хлопці приходили, навіть маючи проблеми зі здоров’ям або обмеження за станом здоров’я, але вони щиро прагнули захистити свою землю», – зазначив лейтенант Олександр Дігтяр.
Молодший сержант Анатолій Колісник додав, що сьогодні добровольців майже немає, а з тих, хто пішов захищати Україну у перші дні повномасштабної війни, залишилося небагато.
З нагоди Дня українського добровольця університетська спільнота передала допомогу військовим: для потреб військової частини придбано необхідні автомобільні аксесуари – гальмівні колодки, домкрат та автомобільний компресор.
Особливу увагу учасників привернув стенд із фотографіями добровольців від ПДМУ – здобувачів освіти та науково-педагогічних працівників, які сьогодні на передовій захищають Україну, підкреслюючи внесок університетської спільноти у підтримку держави.
Захід модерувала директорка народного музею історії ПДМУ Таміла Дашевська.
Подібні зустрічі важливі для формування громадянської свідомості молоді, збереження пам’яті про подвиг українських добровольців та підтримки тих, хто сьогодні боронить незалежність держави.
Адже сила України – у її людях: у тих, хто захищає, у тих, хто допомагає і у тих, хто не втрачає віри. Слава Україні! Героям слава!

“Those Who Stood Up to Defend Their Country by the Call of the Heart”: PSMU Honors Ukrainian Volunteers
On March 13, Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) held a commemorative event on the eve of Ukrainian Volunteer Day, which is observed annually on March 14. This day is dedicated to the people who stood up to defend Ukraine by the call of their hearts.
Professor Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities at PSMU, addressed the military guests with words of gratitude. He emphasized that the university community consistently supports Ukrainian defenders and that many cultural events held at the university have a charitable purpose.
The honorary guests of the event were representatives of the 116th Artillery Battery of the Territorial Defense (military unit A7044), including Lieutenant Oleksandr Dihtiar and Junior Sergeant Anatolii Kolisnyk, as well as Stepan Chupryna, a combat veteran and representative of the public organization “Zakhyst Derzhavy” (Defense of the State).
During the meeting, the servicemen shared their thoughts on the importance of the volunteer movement.
“Volunteers are true titans. From the very first days of the war, people came forward—even those with health problems or medical restrictions—because they sincerely wanted to defend their homeland,” noted Lieutenant Oleksandr Dihtiar.
Junior Sergeant Anatolii Kolisnyk added that today there are almost no volunteers left, and only a few of those who went to defend Ukraine in the first days of the full-scale war remain.
On the occasion of Ukrainian Volunteer Day, the university community provided support to the military. Necessary automotive accessories for the needs of the military unit were purchased and handed over, including brake pads, a jack, and an air compressor.
Particular attention was drawn to a display stand featuring photographs of volunteers from PSMU—students and academic staff who are currently on the frontline defending Ukraine—highlighting the university community’s contribution to supporting the country.
The event was moderated by Tamila Dashevska, Director of the People’s Museum of the History of PSMU.
Such meetings are important for fostering civic awareness among young people, preserving the memory of the heroic deeds of Ukrainian volunteers, and supporting those who are currently defending the independence of the state.
After all, the strength of Ukraine lies in its people: in those who defend, those who help, and those who never lose faith.
