Майже щотижня ПДМУ гостинно приймає школярів та ліцеїстів, які прагнуть відчути атмосферу медичної освіти, дізнатися про перші кроки лікаря та зробити свідомий вибір – присвятити себе служінню людям.
25 березня 2026 року до університету завітали учні 9-го класу та ліцею №6 Полтави. Екскурсію розпочала директорка народного музею історії ПДМУ Таміла Дашевська, зануривши гостей у світ медицини – від первісних методів лікування до сучасних операцій. Зокрема, учні дізналися про перші хірургічні спроби трепанації черепа та історичну психохірургічну процедуру –лоботомію. Вони оглянули макет хати української знахарки, а також перші хірургічні інструменти та засоби знеболення, що використовувалися в давнину. Особливу зацікавленість викликав макет кабінету відомого лікаря-стоматолога, професора Юхима Гофунга, який працював у Полтаві на початку XX століття та зробив значний внесок у розвиток стоматологічної освіти в Україні.
У ході екскурсії гості ознайомилися з історією ПДМУ – від створення одонтологічного факультету при Харківській медичній академії у 1921 році до сьогодення, а також гості дізналися про видатних учених університету та їхні досягнення. Таміла Дашевська розповіла про мантії Вченої ради, підкресливши їх роль у формуванні академічних та медичних традицій.
Окрім історичних експонатів, увагу школярів привернули й сучасні матеріали та артефакти нинішньої війни – знешкоджені ворожі FPV-дрони та уламок керованої авіабомби.
Наступною локацією став Музей анатомії ПДМУ кафедри анатомії людини.
Під час екскурсії особливу увагу було приділено унікальній експозиції музею. Учні ознайомилися з різноманітними анатомічними препаратами: експозиціями, присвяченими нервовій та серцево-судинній системам людини, а також широким спектром зразків – від остеологічних препаратів до складних корозійних і муміфікованих експонатів.
Важливою частиною візиту стало вивчення вроджених аномалій розвитку та етапів ембріогенезу людини. Окрему зацікавленість викликала колекція дитячих скелетів і черепів, які використовуються в освітньому процесі.
Під час екскурсії учням також розповіли про значення анатомії як фундаментальної дисципліни медичної освіти, а також про особливості формування скелета людини на різних вікових етапах життя.

Наступною локацією став Музей оперативної та топографічної анатомії кафедри анатомії з клінічною анатомією та оперативною хірургією, де викладач Олександр Мамай показав десятки анатомічних препаратів, що демонструють найдрібніші деталі будови органів і систем людини. Гості також дізналися про використання VR‑технологій для візуалізації анатомічних структур, інтерактивними заняттями за програмою «віртуальний пацієнт», а також відвідали операційну, де дізналися про хірургічні операції, інструменти та обладнання.
Експозиції музеїв ПДМУ, змістовні та захопливі розповіді екскурсоводів і сучасні інтерактивні технології неабияк захопили школярів, надихаючи їх обрати професію лікаря.

At PSMU on the Path to Medicine: Career Guidance Tour for School Students
Almost every week, PSMU warmly welcomes school and lyceum students who wish to experience the atmosphere of medical education, learn about the first steps of a doctor, and make a conscious decision to dedicate themselves to serving people.
On March 25, 2026, 9th-grade students and pupils of Lyceum No. 6 of Poltava visited the university. The tour began with Tamila Dashevska, Director of the PSMU People’s Museum of History, who immersed the guests in the world of medicine—from primitive treatment methods to modern surgical procedures. In particular, the students learned about early attempts at cranial trepanation and the historical psychosurgical procedure of lobotomy. They explored a model of a traditional Ukrainian healer’s house, as well as early surgical instruments and anesthesia methods used in the past. Of particular interest was a model of the office of the renowned dentist, Professor Yukhym Hofung, who worked in Poltava in the early 20th century and made a significant contribution to the development of dental education in Ukraine.
During the tour, the guests also learned about the history of PSMU—from the establishment of the Odontological Faculty at Kharkiv Medical Academy in 1921 to the present day—and about prominent university scientists and their achievements. Tamila Dashevska also spoke about the ceremonial robes of the Academic Council, emphasizing their role in shaping academic and medical traditions.
In addition to historical exhibits, students were also drawn to modern materials and artifacts from the ongoing war, including deactivated enemy FPV drones and a fragment of a guided aerial bomb.
The next location was the Anatomy Museum of the Department of Human Anatomy at PSMU.
During the visit, special attention was paid to the museum’s unique collection. Students explored a wide range of anatomical specimens, including exhibits dedicated to the nervous and cardiovascular systems, as well as various samples—from osteological specimens to complex corrosion casts and mummified preparations.
An important part of the visit was the study of congenital developmental anomalies and the stages of human embryogenesis. The collection of children’s skeletons and skulls, used in the educational process, aroused particular interest.
Students were also informed about the importance of anatomy as a fundamental discipline in medical education, as well as the features of skeletal development at different stages of human life.

The next stop was the Museum of Operative and Topographic Anatomy of the Department of Anatomy with Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery. Lecturer Oleksandr Mamai presented dozens of anatomical specimens demonstrating the finest details of the structure of human organs and systems. Guests also learned about the use of VR technologies for visualizing anatomical structures, participated in interactive sessions using the “virtual patient” program, and visited an operating room where they were introduced to surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
The museum exhibitions at PSMU, together with the informative and engaging presentations by the guides and modern interactive technologies, greatly impressed the students and inspired them to pursue a career in medicine.
