28 квітня 2026 року науково-педагогічними працівниками кафедри медицини катастроф та військової медицини ПДМУ було проведено тематичний захід, присвячений Міжнародному дню пам’яті про Чорнобильську катастрофу, яка стала найбільшою техногенною катастрофою.
26 квітня 1986 року Чорнобильська АЕС стала символом найбільшої в історії людства техногенної катастрофи та символом мужності й самопожертви в ім’я Батьківщини тисяч українців. Ця пам’ять і розуміння важливі не лише для України, а й для всього світу. Наслідки цієї аварії стали драматичним уроком для цивілізації та суворим попередженням про відповідальність за дії сучасної науки та їх вплив на життя і здоров’я людей і екологічну безпеку планети.
Процес осмислення того, що відбулося в Чорнобилі у 1986 році триває. Ця пам’ять і розуміння важливі не тільки для України – вони важливі для всього світу. З 2017 року документи Національного архівного фонду, які стосуються аварії на Чорнобильській АЕС, включені до міжнародного реєстру програми ЮНЕСКО «Пам’ять світу».
Річниці Чорнобиля – нагода привернути увагу до ще однієї болючої теми. У 2023 році Чорнобильська АЕС була окупована російськими військами. Поведінка окупаційного контингенту на території ЧАЕС засвідчила недостатнє розуміння специфіки об’єкта та рівня відповідальності, який він потребує. Вона виразно показала, до чого призводять незнання та спотворення історичного контексту.

Thematic Event Dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Chornobyl Disaster Held at PSMU
On April 28, 2026, the academic staff of the Department of Accident and Military Medicine of PSMU organized a thematic event dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl disaster, the largest man-made catastrophe in history.
On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant became a symbol of the worst technological disaster in human history, as well as a symbol of courage and self-sacrifice in the name of the homeland by thousands of Ukrainians. This memory and understanding are important not only for Ukraine but for the entire world. The consequences of this accident became a dramatic lesson for civilization and a stark warning about responsibility for the actions of modern science and their impact on human life, health, and the environmental safety of the planet.
The process of comprehending what happened in Chornobyl in 1986 continues. This memory and understanding are important not only for Ukraine—they are significant for the whole world. Since 2017, documents from the National Archival Fund related to the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant have been included in the international register of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme.
The anniversaries of Chornobyl are also an opportunity to draw attention to another painful issue. In 2023, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant was occupied by russian troops. The behavior of the occupying contingent on the plant’s territory demonstrated an insufficient understanding of the facility’s specifics and the level of responsibility it requires. It clearly showed the consequences of ignorance and the distortion of historical context.
