4 березня 2026 року на кафедрі оториноларингології з офтальмологією ПДМУ в рамках міжкафедрального співробітництва відбулася зустріч професора Вадима Новікова, завідувача кафедри пропедевтики хірургічної стоматології, з інтернами-отоларингологами та слухачами циклу тематичного удосконалення «Сучасні ендоскопічні технології в оториноларингології, цифрова компетентність».
Під час заходу Вадим Новіков прочитав лекцію на тему «Захворювання скронево-нижньощелепного суглоба. Синдром Костена», у якій детально розглянув анатомо-функціональні особливості скронево-нижньощелепного суглоба, етіологічні чинники та механізми розвитку синдрому Костена.
Особливу увагу було приділено клінічним проявам захворювання, серед яких біль у ділянці суглоба, шум у вухах, запаморочення, порушення слуху та інші симптоми, що часто потребують диференційної діагностики з патологією ЛОР-органів.
У лекції також висвітлено сучасні підходи до діагностики та лікування патології скронево-нижньощелепного суглоба, а також роль міждисциплінарної взаємодії отоларингологів, стоматологів та інших фахівців у веденні таких пацієнтів. Слухачі мали можливість поставити запитання та обговорити складні клінічні випадки з практики.
Зустріч викликала жвавий інтерес серед інтернів і лікарів та сприяла поглибленню знань щодо міждисциплінарних аспектів діагностики й лікування захворювань, що знаходяться на межі оториноларингології та стоматології.
Проведення таких спільних заходів дозволяє інтегрувати знання різних медичних спеціальностей, підвищує рівень підготовки інтернів і лікарів та сприяє впровадженню сучасних міждисциплінарних підходів у клінічну практику.

Interdepartmental Lecture on Temporomandibular Joint Pathology Held at PSMU
On March 4, 2026, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology with Ophthalmology at Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) hosted a meeting as part of interdepartmental cooperation. The event brought together Professor Vadym Novikov, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Oral Surgery, with ENT interns and participants of the thematic advanced training cycle “Modern Endoscopic Technologies in Otorhinolaryngology and Digital Competence.”
During the event, Vadym Novikov delivered a lecture titled “Diseases of the Temporomandibular Joint. Costen’s Syndrome.” In his presentation, he thoroughly reviewed the anatomical and functional features of the temporomandibular joint, as well as the etiological factors and mechanisms involved in the development of Costen’s syndrome.
Particular attention was paid to the clinical manifestations of the disorder, including pain in the joint area, tinnitus, dizziness, hearing impairment, and other symptoms that often require differential diagnosis from ENT pathologies.
The lecture also covered modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, as well as the role of interdisciplinary cooperation between otorhinolaryngologists, dentists, and other specialists in managing such patients. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss complex clinical cases from medical practice.
The meeting generated lively interest among interns and physicians and contributed to deepening knowledge about interdisciplinary aspects of diagnosing and treating diseases at the intersection of otorhinolaryngology and dentistry.
Such joint events help integrate knowledge from different medical specialties, improve the training of interns and physicians, and promote the implementation of modern interdisciplinary approaches in clinical practice.
