11 березня 2026 року відбулося чергове засідання Вченої ради Полтавського державного медичного університету.
Засідання розпочав голова Вченої ради – ректор ПДМУ, професор Вячеслав Ждан, який представив почесних гостей: керівника Полтавського міського осередку громадської організації «Захист держави» та депутата міської ради Олександра Артеменка, а також представника цієї ж організації, учасника бойових дій і випускника УМСА (нині ПДМУ) Степана Чуприну.
Під час засідання вони вручили ректору відзнаку «Людина дії» за вагомий особистий внесок у зміцнення держави, активну громадянську позицію та діяльність на підтримку і розвиток суспільства.
Вітаючи ректора, гості подякували колективу університету за вагомі здобутки, підкресливши, що ПДМУ входить до десятки провідних закладів вищої освіти України.
У рамках засідання також відбулося відзначення працівників університету. За багаторічну бездоганну працю, сумлінне виконання посадових обов’язків та вагомий внесок у розвиток освіти і науки нагрудним знаком «Відзнака ректора» ПДМУ нагороджено доцента кафедри гігієни та екології, ученого секретаря університету Валентину Філатову.
Почесною грамотою Полтавської міської ради з нагоди ювілейної дати відзначено директорку Науково-дослідного інституту генетичних та імунологічних основ розвитку патології та фармакогенетики ПДМУ Оксану Шликову та доцента кафедри дитячої терапевтичної стоматології Леоніда Чуприну.
Ключовим питанням порядку денного став звіт ректора Полтавського державного медичного університету, професора Вячеслава Ждана про виконання Контракту та підсумки діяльності Університету за 2025 рік.
На початку виступу ректор подякував колективу ПДМУ за плідну роботу та відзначив основні досягнення закладу.
За результатами рейтингового оцінювання діяльності закладів вищої освіти ПДМУ посів 9 місце серед університетів центрального регіону України та 8 місце серед медичних закладів вищої освіти України. Університет також представлений у міжнародному рейтингу SCImago Institutions Rankings 2025, що підтверджує його наукову активність та інтеграцію у світовий науково-освітній простір.
У доповіді ректор зупинився на питаннях кадрового забезпечення університету та змінах, що відбулися у його складі. Присутні хвилиною мовчання вшанували пам’ять працівників університету, яких втратили.
Окрему увагу було приділено освітній діяльності університету. Упродовж звітного періоду ПДМУ успішно пройшов дві міжнародні акредитації освітніх програм «Стоматологія» та «Медицина», а також 9 державних акредитацій за 9 освітніми програмами.
У виступі Вячеслав Ждан поінформував про зміни в освітньому законодавстві та особливості вступної кампанії 2025 року. Найбільше заяв вступники подали на популярні медичні спеціальності – «Стоматологія», «Медицина» та «Терапія та реабілітація».
Окремо ректор звернув увагу на чисельність студентів університету та їхні успіхи у складанні Єдиного державного кваліфікаційного іспиту – КРОК 1, КРОК 2 та ліцензійного інтегрованого іспиту КРОК 3.
Важливе місце у звіті було відведено післядипломній освіті, зокрема підвищенню кваліфікації лікарів та розширенню мережі спеціалізацій.
Значну увагу в роботі університету, як зазначив ректор, приділено науково-дослідній діяльності. Однією з позитивних новин є отримання державного фінансування для виконання наукових досліджень. Очільник університету відзначив роботу періодичних наукових видань університету, зокрема журналу «Український стоматологічний альманах», який видається ПДМУ та включений до міжнародної наукометричної бази Scopus. Окремі видання університету внесено до Переліку наукових фахових видань МОН України, що сприяє підвищенню наукової активності та видимості української науки на міжнародній арені.
У доповіді було відзначено плідну діяльність бібліотеки університету, яка забезпечує науково-інформаційну підтримку освітнього та наукового процесів.
Окремий блок звіту стосувався міжнародної діяльності та інтеграції університету в міжнародний освітній простір. Упродовж звітного періоду укладено договори про співпрацю з Університетом Віго (Іспанія) та Державним університетом прикладних наук у місті Ярослав (Польща).
У звіті також йшлося про діяльність Навчально-наукового медичного інституту, лікувальну роботу університету, а також питання фінансового забезпечення діяльності закладу та ефективного використання ресурсів в умовах сучасних викликів.
У своєму виступі ректор наголосив на важливості волонтерської діяльності університетської спільноти, допомоги Збройним Силам України та цивільному населенню і додав, що значна кількість благодійних ініціатив ПДМУ спрямована на підтримку українських захисників та захисниць.
Важливими складовими університетського життя залишаються спортивно-оздоровча та культурно-мистецька діяльність студентської молоді.
Окремо було відзначено, що у 2025 році в ПДМУ розпочато підготовку бойових медиків, що є вагомим внеском університету у зміцнення обороноздатності держави.
На завершення виступу ректор побажав колективу міцного здоров’я, натхнення у роботі та якнайшвидшої Перемоги України, а також нагадав, що у 2026 році Полтавський державний медичний університет відзначає 105-річчя заснування.
Серед інших питань порядку денного Вченої ради було заслухано звіти завідувачів кафедр про виконання умов контрактів. Зокрема, прозвітували завідувач кафедри пропедевтики ортопедичної стоматології, професор Дмитро Король та завідувач кафедри анатомії з клінічною анатомією та оперативною хірургією, професор Сергій Білаш.
З доповіддю «Нові підходи до проведення атестації науково-педагогічних працівників клінічних кафедр Полтавського державного медичного університету» виступив проректор з науково-педагогічної роботи та післядипломної освіти, професор Ігор Скрипник.
Перший проректор з науково-педагогічної роботи, голова науково-методичної комісії з видавничої діяльності, професор Валентин Дворник представив навчальні видання науково-педагогічних працівників університету, рекомендовані до затвердження Вченою радою з наданням відповідного грифу.
Під час розгляду конкурсних справ було представлено вісім кандидатур до присвоєння вчених звань. За результатами таємного голосування відбулися відповідні вибори.
На завершення Вчена рада затвердила разові спеціалізовані вчені ради для захисту дисертацій, ухвалила передачу навчальних видань кафедр до бібліотеки університету та розглянула подання на здобуття стипендії Верховної Ради України імені Бориса Патона для молодих учених.

PSMU Academic Council Summarizes 2025: Rector’s Report, Awards and University Achievements
On March 11, 2026, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) took place.
The meeting was opened by the Chair of the Academic Council, Rector of PSMU, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, who introduced the distinguished guests: Head of the Poltava city branch of the public organization “Defense of the State” and member of the City Council Oleksandr Artemenko, as well as a representative of the same organization, combat veteran and graduate of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (now PSMU) Stepan Chupryna.
During the meeting, they presented the Rector with the “Person of Action” award in recognition of his significant personal contribution to strengthening the state, his active civic position, and his efforts aimed at supporting and developing society.
Congratulating the Rector, the guests thanked the university staff for their considerable achievements, emphasizing that PSMU is among the top ten leading higher education institutions in Ukraine.
During the meeting, university staff members were also honored. For many years of impeccable work, conscientious performance of official duties, and a significant contribution to the development of education and science, Valentyna Filatova, Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology and Academic Secretary of the University, was awarded the “Rector’s Distinction” badge of PSMU.
Certificates of Honor from the Poltava City Council on the occasion of their anniversaries were awarded to Oksana Shlykova, Director of the Research Institute of Genetic and Immunological Foundations of Pathology Development and Pharmacogenetics of PSMU, and Leonid Chupryna, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Therapeutic Dentistry.
The key issue on the agenda was the report of the Rector of Poltava State Medical University, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, on the fulfillment of his Contract and the University’s performance results for 2025.
At the beginning of his speech, the Rector thanked the PSMU staff for their productive work and highlighted the institution’s main achievements.
According to the results of the ranking evaluation of higher education institutions, PSMU ranked 9th among universities in the central region of Ukraine and 8th among medical higher education institutions in Ukraine. The university is also represented in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2025, which confirms its scientific activity and integration into the global academic and research community.
In his report, the Rector addressed issues related to staffing and changes that occurred within the university. The participants honored the memory of university staff members who had passed away with a minute of silence.
Particular attention was paid to the university’s educational activities. During the reporting period, PSMU successfully passed two international accreditations of the educational programs “Dentistry” and “Medicine,” as well as nine national accreditations for nine educational programs.
Viacheslav Zhdan also informed the audience about changes in educational legislation and the specifics of the 2025 admission campaign. The largest number of applications was submitted for the popular medical specialties Dentistry, Medicine, and Therapy and Rehabilitation.
The Rector also highlighted the number of university students and their success in passing the Unified State Qualification Exam — KROK 1, KROK 2, and the licensing integrated exam KROK 3.
An important part of the report was devoted to postgraduate education, particularly continuing professional development for physicians and the expansion of specialization programs.
Significant attention in the university’s work, as noted by the Rector, is devoted to research activities. One of the positive developments is the receipt of state funding for scientific research projects. The Rector also highlighted the work of the university’s academic journals, particularly the “Ukrainian Dental Almanac,” published by PSMU and indexed in the Scopus international scientometric database. Some of the university’s publications are included in the List of Professional Scientific Publications of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which contributes to increasing the visibility and impact of Ukrainian science internationally.
The report also noted the productive work of the university library, which provides scientific and information support for educational and research processes.
A separate section of the report focused on international activities and the university’s integration into the global educational space. During the reporting period, cooperation agreements were signed with the University of Vigo (Spain) and the State University of Applied Sciences in Jarosław (Poland).
The report also addressed the activities of the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute, the university’s clinical work, as well as issues related to financial support and efficient use of resources under current challenges.
In his speech, the Rector emphasized the importance of the university community’s volunteer activities, assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and support for the civilian population, noting that many charitable initiatives of PSMU are aimed at supporting Ukrainian defenders.
Sports, recreational, cultural, and artistic activities of students also remain important components of university life.
It was also noted that in 2025 PSMU launched the training of combat medics, which is a significant contribution of the university to strengthening the country’s defense capacity.
In concluding his speech, the Rector wished the university staff good health, inspiration in their work, and a swift Victory for Ukraine, and reminded that in 2026 Poltava State Medical University celebrates the 105th anniversary of its foundation.
Among other items on the agenda, the Academic Council heard reports from department heads on the fulfillment of contract conditions. In particular, reports were presented by Professor Dmytro Korol, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Prosthetic Dentistry, and Professor Serhii Bilash, Head of the Department of Anatomy with Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery.
Professor Ihor Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Education, delivered a presentation titled “New Approaches to the Certification of Academic Staff of Clinical Departments at Poltava State Medical University.”
The First Vice-Rector for Education and Research and Chair of the Scientific and Methodological Commission for Publishing Activities, Professor Valentyn Dvornyk, presented educational publications prepared by the university’s academic staff that were recommended for approval by the Academic Council with the appropriate official endorsement.
During the consideration of competitive appointments, eight candidates for academic titles were presented. The corresponding elections were held based on the results of a secret ballot.
At the end of the meeting, the Academic Council approved ad hoc specialized academic councils for dissertation defenses, endorsed the transfer of departmental educational publications to the university library, and considered nominations for the Borys Paton Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Scholarship for Young Scientists.
