3 лютого 2026 року лікарі-інтерни 215 групи кафедри внутрішніх хвороб та медицини невідкладних станів разом із доценткою Ніною Соколюк, а також інтерни 217 групи кафедри внутрішньої медицини №1 разом із доценткою Наталією Третяк долучилися до відзначення Всесвітнього дня жінки-лікаря. Це професійне свято вшановує внесок жінок у розвиток медицини.
Під час заходу студенти та викладачі згадали видатних українок, які своїм життям і професійною діяльністю зробили вагомий внесок у медичну галузь та прославили українську медицину.
Серед них – Ольга Авілова, видатна українська лікарка-хірургиня, докторка медичних наук, професорка, одна з основоположниць реконструктивної хірургії трахеї та бронхів.
Також було згадано Любов Малу – українську терапевтку, докторку медичних наук, професорку, академіка НАН і НАМН України, засновницю та першу директорку Інституту терапії, яка створила першу в Україні систему поетапного лікування хворих на інфаркт міокарда. Нині Інститут терапії з гордістю носить її ім’я.
Окрему увагу приділили постаті Ольги Богомолець – української лікарки-дерматологині, заслуженої лікарки України, докторки медичних наук, засновниці та головної лікарки Інституту дерматології та косметології в Києві.
Серед видатних діячок медицини також згадали Євгенію Мачерет – лікарку-невропатологиню, докторку медичних наук, професорку, члена-кореспондента Національної академії медичних наук України, яка розвинула школу сучасних методів рефлексотерапії та лазеротерапії.
Не оминули увагою й Антоніну Руденко — знану українську лікарку-інфекціоністку, яка зробила вагомий внесок у розвиток медичної науки та практики.
Захід став не лише святковою подією, а й нагодою ще раз нагадати про важливу роль жінок у медицині та надихнути молоде покоління майбутніх лікарів на нові професійні звершення.

National Women Physicians Day: PSMU Honors the Contribution of Ukrainian Women to the Development of Medicine
On 3 February 2026, medical interns of Group 215 from the Department of Internal Diseases and Emergency Medicine, together with Associate Professor Nina Sokoliuk, as well as interns of Group 217 from the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1 with Associate Professor Nataliia Tretiak, joined the celebration of National Women Physicians Day. This professional day honors the invaluable contribution of women to the development of medicine.
During the event, students and faculty recalled outstanding Ukrainian women whose lives and professional achievements made a significant impact on the medical field and brought international recognition to Ukrainian medicine.
Among them was Olha Avilova, an eminent Ukrainian surgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and one of the founders of reconstructive surgery of the trachea and bronchi.
The participants also highlighted Liubov Mala, a Ukrainian physician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, founder and first director of the Institute of Therapy. She created the first stepwise treatment system for patients with myocardial infarction in Ukraine. Today, the Institute of Therapy proudly bears her name.
Special attention was given to Olha Bohomolets, a Ukrainian dermatologist, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and founder and chief physician of the Institute of Dermatology and Cosmetology in Kyiv.
Among other prominent figures in medicine, the event also honored Yevheniia Macheret, a neurologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, who developed a school of modern methods of reflexotherapy and laser therapy.
The participants also paid tribute to Antonina Rudenko, a renowned Ukrainian infectious disease physician who made a significant contribution to the development of medical science and practice.
The event was not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to once again highlight the vital role of women in medicine and to inspire the younger generation of prospective physicians toward new professional achievements.
