1–3 квітня 2026 року здобувачка вищої освіти 6 курсу медичного факультету №1 ПДМУ Вікторія Сєрікова взяла участь у Міжнародному медико-фармацевтичному конгресі студентів і молодих вчених BIMCO 2026, що відбувся на базі Буковинського державного медичного університету, із доповіддю на тему: «Вплив факторів воєнного часу на розвиток епідемій ВІЛ-інфекції та вірусних гепатитів B і C в Україні» (наукові керівники: професор Тетяна Коваль, доцент Олена Марченко, кафедра інфекційних хвороб з епідеміологією ПДМУ).
Представлена робота порушує актуальні проблеми сучасної системи охорони здоров’я, зокрема вплив викликів воєнного часу на поширення соціально значущих інфекційних захворювань, акцентуючи увагу на ризику формування прихованої епідемії ВІЛ через недовиявлення випадків та зростання пізньої діагностики.
Ці наукові напрацювання отримали високу оцінку журі конгресу та були відзначені дипломом II ступеня.

PSMU Student Wins Prize at BIMCO 2026 for Research on Infectious Risks in Wartime
On April 1–3, 2026, Viktoriia Sierikova, a 6th-year student of Medical Faculty No. 1 at Poltava State Medical University (PSMU), took part in the International Medical and Pharmaceutical Congress of Students and Young Scientists BIMCO 2026, held at Bukovinian State Medical University.
She presented a report titled “The Impact of Wartime Factors on the Development of HIV Infection and Viral Hepatitis B and C Epidemics in Ukraine” (academic supervisors: Professor Tetiana Koval and Associate Professor Olena Marchenko, Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, PSMU).
The presented research addresses pressing challenges of the modern healthcare system, particularly the impact of wartime conditions on the spread of socially significant infectious diseases. It highlights the risk of a hidden HIV epidemic due to underdiagnosis and an increase in late detection cases.
The study was highly praised by the congress jury and was awarded a 2nd degree diploma.
